    You Found The Card: Reloaded

The creator of YouFoundTheCard.com has been under the increasing pressure of REAL LIFE.

Consequentially, YFTC is now under new management.

There are no plans for major reconstruction. The color scheme will stay the same. :flowers: However, everyone can agree that much of the information needs to be updated. Please post with updates, suggestions, or other modifications you'd like to see.

    Next day or so:
    Update dates & protest info
    Check links

    Next few days:
    Write new texts
    Review videos
    Test alternate fonts
    Compile current fair game reports

    Next couple weeks:
    Public guestbook / guest-postable forum
Unique sites for each youfoundthe**** URL

Updates will occur on Sunday, since Friday & Saturday will be spent drinking Prozac martinis. <3

At least change the fonts. Georgia instead of Trebuchet would be nice :fuckyou:

  4. Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

    I don't know if "Public guestbook / guest-postable forum" is necessary/useful/productive.
Why do we need Unique sites for each youfoundthe**** URL? I like that they all go to the same site. http://www.youfoundthesign.com is an odd exception.

    Great news! :D

A big thank you to the original creator of the site for letting others take over when need be!

Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

Maybe a collection of Fair Game reports? That would demonstrate to people looking past the first page that Scientology is indeed an organized crime syndicate.

Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

Only one way to be sure. ;D

Not really unique; just changing every instance of "youfoundthecard" to "youfoundthesticker" or "youfoundthecash" or whatever.
Also, one generous forum member came up with a front page for youfoundthecash.com which gives people the chance to submit the bill's serial number (and their zip code) so we have a crude whereisgeorge functionality. :)

Youfoundthesign is owned by a different person.

It can prolly be done with some simple scripting, even in Bash, if you do your site that way...
  10. Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

I think it's more helpful to link to http://forums.whyweprotest.net rather than setting up a new YouFoundTheCard forum.

Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

    I disagree.

If you are simply being thrown into this forum without proper reason and introduction, no one will care.

YFTC should ofc lead to a legit site, set up especially for those who FOUND THE CARD.

Ontopic: How about sourcing a bit more of the facts we have on CoS?
Also: Make sure not to make too much of a focus on their fair gaming, we will still want ppl to halp and not flee :D

  13. Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

Sorry, that's what I meant - cards IRL, with the URL for Stop Scientology Abuses | You Found The Card , with the intro material + background reading etc. But I don't think YouFoundTheCard needs to start its own message board, when we have http://forums.whyweprotest.net
  14. Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

Thanks for keeping this awesome site going! I think YFTC is one of the best harpoons in Anon's harpoonery.

My two cents: I'd like to see the site aimed squarely at people with no exposure at all to Co$ or Anon. For example, I don't get why the "Worldwide Picket" notice is on the main screen, but the really great "We are here to raise awareness about the crimes of the Church of Scientology" section is buried at the bottom, where you have to scroll down. Shouldn't those two be reversed? I think we need to make the case against $cientology BEFORE we start giving information about protests.

I think it's a good idea to put as much anti-Co$ stuff as possible in the viewer's sight when they first enter -- and then if they want to browse the deeper stuff, great, but if not, the point comes across clearly. I want the random person who saw a YouFoundTheCash stamp and visited the site to come away from the site with a strong sense that $cientology is dangerous JUST FROM THE FIRST PAGE.

Just my point of view. Thanks again for your great work.
  15. Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

I think it works as it is - with the "Worldwide protest this month" up front, to catch your interest.
  16. Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

Well, maybe widen the format a bit and put the most pertinent shizz up at the top in a horizontal menu? That way, everything is right there, all on an even level and right where they can scan it and decide what they want to look at. Like, Co$ history, their crimes, what 'you' can do, worldwide protest?

Also - random shot in the dark, but -- anybody given thought to 'You Found the (Message/Truth, etc.)' - bumper stickers or even just regular square stickers for people to get their wheelie enturbulating on? Some people might not want to use 'em, sure, because that could be seen as a 'O HAI $CILONS! COME AN' RAEP ME!' thing, but there are some brave mofos out there, surely, who'd wanna spread the word that way (like, say, WBM or Tory or the bolder unmasked Anons)?

Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

I agree with SuppressiveFire - explain first, invite second. So just switching around the info re Scientology and having the protest info underneath it would work. Otherwise, people (and let's face it, most people are lazy) will just go 'Whasat? yawn' and shut the window/tab.

Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

Having a way to track youfoundthecash and also letting people register where they found the card sounds like a neat feature, as long as people think of the possible risks of doing this.

As for a guestbook functionality, I'm one of those who would rather link to enturbulation (and possibly ex scientology message boards). A guestbook will probably turn into a debate forum and debates are easier to keep up with in fully fledged forum software. It also means that there will be one less place to moderate.

Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

I was thinking that some people who find the card and want to join in the local protests might find it easier to do so if the "what can I do" ling to entrub.org points to September 13th Protest - Enturbulation.org | Scientology Critic & Activism Forum rather than the front of the forums, and perhaps that link itself should be be more prominent, which is to say, higher up, on that page.
  20. Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

This sounds like a good idea. The most immediate stuff is the stuff they'll actually get off their asses to do. If there's a link to a thread about raids that are two or three months away, they might make a mental note, but they're also just as likely to forget. The ones that are coming up soonest should be priority.

So, say, maybe have the url the 'what can I do?' links to be static but just change the info out to represent the raids that are coming up next and keep it current? Make it sort of a base page, y'know? :text:

Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

I propose linking to a current operations overview. Mass demonstrations are not the end-all and be-all of Chanology. Having a count-down to the latest one is good, but for those who can't take part in that it's nice to see the threads about writing postcards to SP hall, writing to politicians, leaving YFTC's at selected locations, engaging Scientologists in debates, helping to create flyers and videos etc.

Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

Youfoundthecash.com still directs to youfoundthecard.com for me. Any idea when that one will be done? I've got some bills labeled and I kind of want to punch in the number and see where they go next. If it'll be a while I'll just send them out, but if it'll be in the next couple of days I'll wait. I mostly use a credit card, so spending actual cash is a rare occurrence.

A french and german version of the site ? Like whyweprotest.net, it's useful for us in good old Europe.

I can translate it to french.

I dont neccessarily believe this. But i have been reliably told that you get higher 'length of stay' from visitors on sites that are light colors rather than black.

A LING TO MY PROTEST RECAP VIDS AND "THE ROAD TO" SERIES PLOX :)

That being said...I don't believe that a forum would be neccessary, considering that Enturbulation is huge.

I wouldn't mind seeing an anonymous directory for all the decentralized sites so people who wish to persue their local areas can do so - most of the decentralized sites are alot smaller, and link back to enturb with massive amounts of copypasta anyway.

Instead of YFTC forums being the "buffer" between here and YFTC, why not let the decentralized anon sites and wikis do it? Same purpose, except the reader would have more ino about what's going on in teir own area of the globe.

Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

I was thinking the same thing. Use geo-ip location to route to the local cell's website. If there is none, to enturb.

Definitely agree on retooling the How Can I Help? page.

Any help is appreciated, especially since YFTC will be starting its newsletter back up.

Hope to have a beta working tonight. :D

Thanks, French and German would be great. The text of the site will be changing, but you're welcome to take liberty with the translation as you see fit.

This is a great idea; time to check on costs for printing up 1000's of stickers with QR codes. :D

If anyone can help with the code for the IP geolocation, this sounds great. If not, it's easy enough to have a directory. :)

Great ideas; tonight's gonna be a long one...

    Germany already has has http://www.diekartegefunden.com

I'm guessing www.vousaveztrouvelacarte.com would be a little silly...

    A suggestion:

Maybe a shoutbox saying "where did you find the card?" so we can easily get feedback and use better targets?

Re: YouFoundTheCard: Reloaded - Updates & Suggestions

i keep reading some comments in the interwub that the Co$ hasn't 'fair gamed' anyone recently. please add the following information:

Larry Wollersheim was abused while in and 'fair gamed' when he left. he got $8.7 million from the Co$ in the end. as recently as 1991, the Co$ claimed that 'fair game' is a religious protected practice in an appeal:

John Sweeney of the BBC was systematically stalked and harassed by the Co$ in 2007:

the Co$ went on to accuse the BBC of making 'terrorist death threats.':

Firstly, thank you so much for taking on this task, TAM.

Not sure if you're already taking care of this in your own way, but here's a suggestion I made in a different thread a while back.
