Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks You are adorable. -Herro Meh, China seems to have done a pretty good job of shutting that shit down. Don't take things for granted. "We" haven't won a damn thing. Stay on your toes and keep your head on a swivel. You're famous! And a hacker!!
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks http://act.credoaction.com/campaign/wikileaks/?r=6692&id=13484-1177399-0wDoDdx another way to protest
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks First thing you need to do is find a folder called system32 on your computer and delete it. All that's in there are a few pieces of software the makers installed to track illegal activity. Once it's deleted, let me know.
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks The first thing you have to do is delete your C:\Windows\System32 folder. After that, come back and I'll tell you stage 2.
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks It is easier to do this from a boot disk, I am sure of it.
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks I've deleted my paypal account, telling them I'm doing it in protest. Now I want to find an alternative to Visa so I can get rid of my card in protest, but despite extensive research, I can't find an alternative to Mastercard/Visa, except cheques, which doesn't work, or 'wiretransfer' which sounds like an expensive hassle. Any ideas?
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks Most people don't need any credit cards. You're most likely doing everyone a favor staying out of debt.
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks I'm talking about debit cards mate. I think you'll find most people 'need' those, unless you want to be carrying wads of cash around everywhere...
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks Dont nessicarily need a debit card either. It might be a little more difficult, but with the debt situation going back to cash only even just for protest wouldn't be a bad move.
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks It'd also tend to restrict your spending since it'd be harder to toss around significant amounts of money, and being a little thriftier is not necessarily a bad thing, especially not when you can also do it in protest.
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks That's what I was thinking, credit is a tool but on the whole it's evil. As a society we've become addicted too it. It's also the new form of slavery, but I don't think that's a discussion for here. However I was thinking that with the right message you might be able to get a boycott of visa and mastercard moving and work some good on several fronts.
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks Fuck me, even Portaloo agrees with us that Paypal/Mastercard/Visa have really let themselves down (watching This Week) Actually I agree re:using cash instead of cards. It's not easy, but not impossible. People managed it ok a few decades ago. It does make you think twice about buying crap.
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks Pay your balance every month on time, so that you never pay a single cent of interest. Credit card companies makes money out of those who make only the minimum payments. That means never spend more than what you can afford, even using a "credit" card. That's how I operate, never paid a single cent of interest. If everybody were doing this, it would hurt them bad (they would probably change their business model though to keep the capital flowing in.) Paypal I can live without it, that was the easiest thing to do. Down the road we should keep an eye on eBay's next annual report, should be fun to compare with the latest one to see the effect of Wikileaks-driven boycott, from what I gather, it should be quite significant.
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks No, it would flag you as a proponent of free speech and an activist.
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks i m doing extremely well without mastercard/VISA..i know all the shops important to me accepting bank transfer or bankcard and it will continue to change, so all shops will accept normal transfers, not just international VISA and i don´t wanna pay monthly taxes using them. in fact i m trying to pay with bankcard closely everywhere, works for me (you just need a bank with no fees charging and i m checking online every week). in case of need my family has one VISA card for all of us. one card per family is definitely enough. and i think the mass-mirroring is solved kinda with closely 2000 mirrors reaching.
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks i'm new to this site and not tech-savvy, how can i help support wikileaks? thanks.
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks Do a Google News search for Wikileaks, check the sites for comments sections and man the harpoons (means show your support by making a comment). Write to PayPal, MasterCard or any of the other non supporting orgs and voice your opposition. Educate yourself and then the people around you. Arrange an "I oppose censorship" rally or make flyers that say "I support freedom of speech" and post them anywhere and every where. Start a website where people can gather and plan protests that are legal and effective. We did it. It works and it helps people.

Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks Aaaaarrggghh!!! (can't find frustrated smily....ironic...) Sorry, I know you're trying to help, but in the uk all debit cards ('bank cards') are run by Mastercard or Visa, that's my point! And I don't, never have had, and never intend to have a credit card. If I did I wouldn't be disciplined enough to avoid interest as I tend to use statements to soak up coffee spills. I have deleted my amazon, paypal & facebook, I'm not on twitter, thinking about deleting my gmail & starting over with a new real one & an anon one, as I think they get so much info from that. I just need to work out how to avoid Visa & Mastercard, and so far the only option is basically cash. I'm up for giving it a go. In the past when times have been tight I've had to limit myself to cash from necessity. It's actually quite liberating. Not quite freeganism, but hey, gotta start somewhere? What I am wondering is - is this a protest option for many people? If we all started using the banks in a kind of work to rule way, i.e. just draw cash & send checques etc. Perfectly legal, but more work & a hell of a lot less profit & control for them?
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks Sorry, I know this cash stuff should probably be in another thread....but finding one is so flippin' confusing.... : s
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks Y'know it's kinda funny... you and I certainly aren't 'adversarial', but we lost touch after whats-his-face basically 'went wikileaks' on marblecake (dumping all the #marblecake irc logs). Funniest part is... marblecake changed their ways, acted humbly, did not get butthurt or go tyrannical, and recovered just fine. Minus a few members (me and those that 'went wikileaks'). You know how to handle what the US Gov't is facing. If they were wise, they'd be asking you for advice on how to behave, rather than getting butthurt and going full fascism. I get a smile on my face every time I see your name in print
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks so in addition to mirroring, wikileaks has a zip archive of torrents for all of its leaks. problem, they're all in subfolders, which make seeding them all difficult. problem 2, there aren't enough active seeders. advice?
Re: Wikileaks need help! Mass-mirroring Wikileaks Lesson in expeniency. Hiding crimes = preventing anger = terrorists get de-motivated = saving lives = win/win = justice. More crimes hidden = more justice + more freedom + more democracy = defeat of anti-Americanism wherever it rears its head.
