Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? Now, here's an idea... It would be great to have someone run against Jeff Stone in the Republican primary for California State Senate for the 36th State Senate District of California. The primary is in June 2010, and the deadline to be a candidate is February 2010. Most of the 36th District is registered Republican, so whoever wins the Republican primary most likely goes on to beat the Democrat in the general election. However if you want to I suppose you could alternatively run for the Democratic primary. Here is some info on the 36th Senate District California's 36th State Senate district - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and SENATE DISTRICT 36. Here is a map of the District http://www.sen.ca.gov/ftp/SEN/senplan/PDF_SD_ATLAS/SD36_NEW_SD.PDF. I have not yet found information on how to register and get on the ballot, but there is more info here Faqs and Links. Here are example websites of the two declared candidates so far, Jeff Stone Jeff Stone for State Senate 2010 and Ken Dickson Ken Dickson: Candidate for California State Senate 36th District (Riverside San Diego Counties) 2010 Elections. Joel Anderson is a sitting California State Assemblyman and will likely also be in the Republican primary, but he has not declared his candidacy formally yet Joel Anderson. Here is Julie Waltz at the Riverside County Supervisors meeting on November 24, 2009 - calling out Jeff Stone for making false statements on his campaign website about Ordinance 884 [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ix9-x2UjTZs"]YouTube- Scientology: Nov. 24, 2009 Jeff Stone's Changing Story + Grading at Gold Base[/ame]. If you were a formal candidate on the ballot, either in the Republican primary or even in the General election, you would get a bigger voice to exercise free speech criticism about Jeff Stone, and also more generally about Scientology actions within the area of the 36th State Senate District of California. It would no longer just be X individual saying something, but "John Smith, Candidate for California State Senate in 2010..." Is anyone up for the challenge? I can't do it as I am not in that region. Could be very interesting to call out Jeff Stone in the media etc. And you could get a great job too!
Re: Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? Can someone cross post this to OCMB AND EXSCN please.
Re: Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? Why not? I'm sure his neighbors in the trailer park will vote for him. And AGP can be his publicist... I'd keep the moola away from him though... Spending campaign contributions on booze & weed... ethics violations.
Re: Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? I believe Lirra Bishop is the logical choice. Wise Beard Man throws his full support behind Lirra, a candidate with integrity who will not back down before a corrupt politician.
Re: Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? Although very qualified, I suspect Lirra, the mother of a young child, would want to venture into the world of dirty politicians. I nominate Mark Bunker.
Re: Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? Unfortunately, I live in the 39th district, not the 36th.
Re: Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? This would be an excellent idea. Suddenly Lirra Bishop goes from just Lirra Bishop to - "Lirra Bishop, candidate for California State Senate in 2010, says......" - and all she would have to do is get her name on the ballot!
Re: Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? Do what other politicians do. Rent a mailbox in the 36th district & claim you live there.
Re: Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? You hope........ ;-P I think this would be such a great idea if someone takes it up. State senators earn about $100,000.00 a year.
Re: Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? Actually, the earn $113,098/year plus $162/day for each day they are in session.
Re: Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? OK. This is a very funny idea. Platform: Will not cow down to a cult.
Re: Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? This info was sent to me. Thread: There IS an alternatvie candidate in the 36th State Senate race ************************************************** ************ Hi, I've been the sole declared candidate in the 36th since this summer. Currently President of the Democratic Club of Southwest Riverside County, past candidate for Congress in the 45th CD. Just thought you should know there is someone running against Stone. Paul Clay *************** I asked back if he knew the facts about the cult but got no answer. MP
Re: Who wants to run for California State Senate 2010? and this is exactly why we need a straight forward press pack.
