Dianetics remains the #1 hook used to get people into Scientology, but how easy is it for people to easily find out the truth about it on the net? A web search typically turns up stuff like Wikipedia (which is OK), pro-Dianetics sites from the cult (barf), and sites that are informative but too scholarly-sounding for casual reading. There aren't enough critical sites on the subject that are short and easy to read. These are important for the tldr crowd or those who are simply pressed for time.

That's where The Dianetics Scam comes in. At least that's the idea. Use either of the following URL's:

    thedianeticsscam.com
    thedianeticsscam.org

The Dianetics Scam gets straight to the point about the cult's recruiting tactics and is aimed for the reader who has little to no knowledge about the subject. It may also serve as a resource when launching harpoons or doing other projects. Getting the truth about Dianetics out on the web is key, and the more critical resources we have in various flavors, the better.

A section on Book Reviews done on DMSMH at the time could be included, either linking to them or reproducing them on the site:

Here are extra links to put in the "Further Reading" section of that site, including a couple reports on actual experiments done in the 50s:

    Good idea is good!

The page need to be visually pleasant, and with a short and easily readable intro text. I'd suggest the shorter the intro the better, perhaps down to 100 words long.

    Suggested points for the intro:

    - Dianetics is Scientology
    - Dianetics is thoroughly debunked
    - Dianetics is primarily a recruitment tool

How about associating dianetics with an array of things that people now easily recognize as scams?

Which is to say, dianetics is nothing special, just another in a long line of scams that succeed because they look good at first glance.

It tries to associate itself with the greats of science, whereas it's just another 3 card monte.

A worthy bump indeed! Kudos to all involved.

I always loved the stories about how ol' LRon got his 'bible' on the NY Times best sellers list by sending out his sheeples to buy up all the copies they could find, literally cleaning out book stores. What to do next? Why, of course, re-box them the crap and send them back to the same stores for re-stock. Really, when ya thinks about it, it was a stroke of scammer brilliance as, not only did he raise IRL sales, he also got even more out of his starry-eyed suckers. Whatta guy eh! *snorks*
Meanwhile the real academics, people who actually went to college and university and did their work (quite unlike Tubs), raked the whole thing over the coals (and found almost nothing of substance in the ashes), much to the chagrin of Hubbard's bloated ego and sense of entitlement to his goal of 'smashing his name into history', so ta speak.

Dianetics was a piece of confabulated/contrived shit then, and it remains so to this day. It, in my honest opinion, is the hallmark of what a desperate, speed-fueled, demonic, money-hungry, psychopathic con artist with delusions of grandeur can achieve.
That this poorly written, blithering, inane pile of trash, with little foundations in reality, can still be read and acknowledged as anything but a heap of twaddle, in this day and age I find simply amazing. There are some desperately, morbidly, stupid people in this part of the universe, and though many of the seekers have, I am sure, the best of intentions for untangling our mortal coils and figuring out our existence.... gah, it is kind of appalling.

Cheers to all Anons, critics, and ex's ect. etc., that continue to fight and expose this sort of insanity, keep on getting it real, keep on get the information/truth out there so that others may have a chance to figure the world out without any input from crazy mofo's.

Just a wee Tuesday ranty thingy du-jour, my opinion, so there.

    :)

  14. Facebook is the world's fastest growing religion cult.
Someone should make a website about it.
