It can also be said that in this world (IRL, I mean), image can mean something, and truth often means something. Thing is, when you average the nuances down to a yes or no, it all comes out looking pretty dark. Image is not everything, everywhere.
True that. But as regards the image of Anonymous projected onto a Scientologist IRL, it is so. Anonymous is in the news a lot. - What image has it got? Hackers, Protesters, Pony and Porn lovers, Jerks. Then, a Scientologist sees an Anon IRL who tells him "Free Hugs" (or something of the sort). What does the Scientologist think about him? Does he think, "Wow! This guy is telling me the truth!"? Or does he think, "It's one of those people in masks who watch porn, hack websites, protest and do other shit like that that noone cares about."?
I'm well aware of the issue. I'm just wondering what you plan on doing about it. Other than endlessly complaining about it, that is.
Plan? - Nothing. It's just that duplicity of Anonymous that strikes me as odd. Anonymous in the Internet hate everything and everyone Scientology, but then, IRL, they wanna be well received by Scientologists.
add: and say they "love them" Hate in the Internet and "love" IRL are incompatible with each other. Thus, Anonymous deserves its image... Moreover, it maintains it being such. "The truth" Anonymous has about and carries forward to Scientology is just BS for a Scientologist. Just because Anons have the image of being untrustworthy hackers and stuff like that. Deal with it.
Silly. If anything, it's a multiplicity. A herd of cats. Are you expecting that Anonymous has a Board of Directors and a VP of Image? Wait, don't answer that. You go be the VP of Image.
The very nature of Anonymous is duplicious. Being IRL a decent, respectable citizen, one becomes a raving faggot (or something like that) in the Internet. - Just because he's not seen. Argue that?
I want to see things as they are. - While posting anonymously, I only lose my decency when approached with indecent content (words and pix). Otherwise, I try to keep it (which is hardly possible here).
So what you mean to say is what's true is what's true for you. Hmm, where have I heard that one before?
Duality =/= Duplicity, the nature of Anonymous is dual, thus: The point is not what the Sci thinks, the point is that the Sci thinks at all. For those trapped deep in the reverie of certainty, like cult members, even momentary confusion can create an opening through which a little reality just might creep in. Anon cannot save these people, they will have to do it themselves.
There are Anons who are loving to Scions to help them get out of the cult. There are Anons who challenge scions and get in their face IRL. There are Anons who troll Scions because it's lulzy. "We" can not "correct" our "image" and plurality is the point, no?
I make companion cube cakes, take bubbles to my protests, have a bow on my mask, wear a santa hat at Christmas, and dance to the caramelldansen every time it comes on in a raid. I don't give a fuck what Anon is 'supposed' to be. I just do my own thing. If they want to see me as a threat pretending to be nice for four hours every month to that extent, that just indicates the intensity of their brain washing.
Holy fuck, haven't seen a decent train-wreck thread in a while, yeh, been busy licking mah cat...... *cough-ptuiiii-gak*
actually from a day of lurking around the SF morg (on graduation day, no less) The place was dead except for scared looking staff. Kinda reminded me of jittery hairless cats. like this:
I apologize. I'll make myself more clear. I do not care that he/she thinks they are watching me. My life is the most uninteresting thing ever. With a sarcastic have fun.
Also, it is 3 o'clock in the afternoon and I am hanging out with my friend making brownies. Nice try.
Nice name. You know, you can multi-quote in one post? You can even edit your posts up to 24 hrs. I mention this because it is easier to read one post than multiple posts and unnecessarily bump threads.
