Really? A betting company turns out to be corrupt? Imagine that! That anyone in their right mind would buy stock in such scheme without knowing the risk, is, um, pretty derpy.
Betting may be the pursuit of the person who don't know math, but they should be allowed play with some return which is usually one win in four.
I don't believe Spread Co will go out of business anytime soon; if anything I'm seeing they've revamped their website and employed new people. They are without doubt a small company but its still regulated by the FCA and client deposits are covered up to 50k anyway by the UK Deposit Protection Scheme (FSCS).
