VIDEO GEEKS- I NEED HALP! I have a bunch of Scilon videos that I'd like to get up on the net. Recently someone asked for the full LRH funeral event. It's been released already but in 9 or 10 files. I have the full LRH Funeral event with young DM, Pat Broeker and all the Int execs from 1986. I used a program called DVD encrypter to download it to my hard drive. The DVD is 3.1 G and the files are as follows: VTS_01_0.VOB 418 KB VTS_01_1.VOB 1,024,000 KB VTS_01_2.VOB 1,024,000 KB VTS_01_3.VOB 1,024,000 KB VTS_01_4.VOB 406,684 KB I have a video converting program called Handbrake but don't really know the best settings for converting this to a smaller file. Any suggestions? If you recommend another program please ensure it's free and include the EXACT SETTINGS I should use. TIA
Re: VIDEO GEEKS- I NEED HALP! Better to rip again by chapter, so the separate VOB files correspond to independent video clips, or you have to cut it yourself. Smartripper do all chapters in one pass, don't remember about Decrypter. (My suggestions are freeware and you can google them all.) Avidemux can read the vob files and compress directly. Just drag file into Avidemux window. Suggested settings: - apply de-interlace filter, old DVD likely to be interlaced - video codec - x268 AVC - 2-pass, rate 600 to 1800 kb/s depends on how small the file you want, post processing none - audio codec - AAC - format mp4 Save video to some .mp4 file. If you don't worry about the file size and quality, you can play with the settings that encode a lot faster.
Re: VIDEO GEEKS- I NEED HALP! Convert the VOB fles to AVI/DivX using PocketDivX. Select "PC" as the device you want to make the video for and it won't bother to resize the source video. If needed, you can then use Solveig AVITrimmer to cut the files into segments or trim off unwanted portions without having to re-encode any of it. http://www.pocketdivxencoder.net/EN_index.htm http://www.solveigmm.com/?Products&p=AVITrimmer
