The funny thing is that they cannot talk about the irony of his name in public or private, because they are not allowed to talk to each other about it. Even though they are probably dying to. DM couldn't resist the temptation to highlight the 'SP' Times was against them.

The only thing I hope is that he doesn't get much rougher treatment by the OSA because of their irrational beliefs.

Finally somebody. It was the Australians in the 60s who put a boot up hubbards ass and sent him crying, and it looks like the aussies have done it again.

Hey, everyone has put a boot up Hubbard's ass at least once over the years. Now we just have to remember that and do it again, all at the same time!

    All together now!

    Precisely right. The key statements:

The process was: exes wrote their own stories. Within the set of letters there were commonalities. Anon provided evidence of the same abuses happening across continents and decades.

You are correct, Consensus. What sounds far-fetched when written in one lone letter sounds worth considering when coupled with evidence of multiple occurrences. A wiki along those lines would be valuable.

No. Aussie exes got the stuff together. Anon merely assisted later. Yes, the whole Anon movement has galvanised exes and encouraged them to begin to speak out. Every contribution, going way back to the earliest defectors and those who spoke out, has been building toward this event. The SP Times articles and videos were particularly influential in encouraging the exes. So, we're all due a pat on the back. But the Aussie exes involved really did the hard yards on this one. Kudos to them.

    Police make their own decisions.
Senate is yet to vote on whether to hold an inquiry.

This is spot on. Except the exes aren't just from Sydney. :)

In order for there to be a Senate inquiry there must be the support of 39 Senators.

    Xenophon is 1
The Greens will probably support it, that's 5 more
Senator Fielding said he is interested in the tax free status (which is interesting, because his election campaign was paid for by the Assembly of God churches) so he is 1 more maybe

My point is, if the opposition (Liberals and Nationals) oppose it, then a Senate inquiry will only be set up if Labor, Xenophon, the Greens, and Senator Fielding all support it.

So the best way to encourage an inquiry is to contact the Senators in your state or territory and tell them why they should vote for the inquiry.

A good practical breakdown. Will they vote party lines or is there the possibility swinging some votes? As well, who would the opinion-makers be to target in each party for this kind of topic? (CoS will want to define the topic as religious freedom, when it should be criminal actions, charity fraud, taxation, etc.)

Side item>> Speaking of tax fraud, I noticed this two-year old story: Tax ruling boosts churches, charities - National - theage.com.au
Does CoS transfer any of their funds to non-charity groups, and does the money they spend on lawyers and PIs advance religion?

Xenophon (Ancient Greek Ξενοφῶν, Xenophōn; Modern Greek "Ξενοφών", Xenophōn; "Ξενοφώντας", Xenophōntas; ca. 430 - 354 BC), son of Gryllus, of the deme Erchia of Athens, also known as Xenophon of Athens, was a soldier, mercenary, and a contemporary and admirer of Socrates. He is known for his writings on the history of his own times, preserving the sayings of Socrates, and the life of ancient Greece.
