    Hey wait a sec. Rich people don't think of sneaky ways to avoid taxes. They're all like Carnegie Mellon, building libraries for the poor and such.

    Actually, very few businessmen are free market. I can think of one, TJ Rodgers. Most people like free money and don't care where it came from. Very few have the integrity to say no, and if they were a public company, they would be fired for not accepting these tax breaks. IOW, they have to do what the government allows them to do, even if it is the wrong thing to do.

    Those pesky incentives.

    And of course Andrew Carnegie had a tax rate of 0% for most of his life so I don't see how that has anything to do with taxes. He had a top marginal rate of about 3%. Today's top marginal rate is <50%..
