Ex-Scientologists and Operation Reconnect The whole reason I'm here is that after 30+ years of not being engaged with Scientology on any level after leaving staff and after several moves and number changes, somehow the "church" found me again and tried to get me back in. I told them no thanks and take me off your mailing list, but they persisted. They started calling, and I have again asked them to stop to no avail. My last letter to them stated that every time I get a mailing or a call I am going to assume they agree that I can talk to whoever is on the other end about leaving the cult. Their attempts at communication ignored this and continue unto this day, and I have fulfilled my end of the bargain, answering by signed letter in the fashion I promised. It occurs to me that as we are entering the Reconnect phase that what I'm now going to do in my responses is to ask the caller a question from a list of possibilities depending on what I feel is right for that person. When's the last time you called your Mom? Do you know anyone who isn't allowed to talk to their family? Do you have any kids? etc. And generally, through their "reg cycle" just stay on target with my questions in pursuit of trying to get whoever has contacted me to take a look at this. My idea - in a general sense - is that I know a few ex-Scientologists who are also still being contacted by the "church" and have this same opportunity. This is what I'm doing. I would urge any exes still on lines (God knoweth how that happened to us) to do the same. In fact, should they persist anyway, we may want to think about forming our subjects around the campaign currently in operation in months to come.
Re: They Still Call Me - Now An Idea Re; Reconnect Awseome idea, I think you exes can have a far more personal impact on those still in. While our pickets raise awareness, I don't think they touch the true believers in a personal way, they probably have the oposite effect. So I fully endorse this and would suggest if you haven't that you put it on the exkids and exscn sites. Keep up the good work.
Re: They Still Call Me - Now An Idea Re; Reconnect Ah hah! Just returned from ex-scn. Not a member of kids though
Re: They Still Call Me - Now An Idea Re; Reconnect I am bumping this for all the ex-scientologists who didn't see it. PAY ATTENTION GOD DAMMIT -I'm gonna go all fucking Micheal Douglas here in a minute!
Re: They Still Call Me - Now An Idea Re; Reconnect Can you arrange to meet a scilon in person? Say you need to talk things trough, but youre uncomfortabe with talking to more than one person. Hopefully they woud be dessperate enough to agree to your demand, then you can start dissemination and ''Unbrainwashing'', one on one. Offcoure, that is if youre up to it...
Re: Ex-Scientologists and Operation Reconnect Do they send you any pre-paid reply envelopes ? There's not quite enough Anonymous fliers advertising the protests out there in the world...
Re: They Still Call Me - Now An Idea Re; Reconnect Something about pic's here. I would love to see that. This is why!
Re: They Still Call Me - Now An Idea Re; Reconnect Puddlewhite - mostly inside an org though, I've never seen anyone go out to a house. I think going into the building has problems beyond being surrounded, as I remember they usually double-team or more. That could only be effective one on one and not in a Scientology setting. Hard to come by. anon-and-on-and-anon - Now THAT's an idea! I've been returning letters telling whoever opens it that "it isn't too late" to leave. A_sneeze - I'd hafta get a haircut first though...
Re: They Still Call Me - Now An Idea Re; Reconnect Some of the Operation Reconnect literature might be quite emotional for some overworked HCO girl checking which letters have money in...
Re: They Still Call Me - Now An Idea Re; Reconnect You are not the only one. Still, that moment. Priceless! Hmmm, come to think of it, it also would be nice if Mark Bunker was to shave his beard, as soon as C0$ is down. Or after a dinner with M.
