The Journal Of Clinical Investigation I was wondering would asking the Journal Of Clinical Investigation to offer a critic of Narconon's "scientific research" papers be any use? As mentioned elsewhere on this forum and on Xenu.net, in 2005 they wrote an editorial article criticing Tom from being dangerous and irresponsible by telliing people to avoid psychiatric treatment. http://www.jci.org/115/8/1964?content_type=full Is this a worthwhile endavour? http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Narconon/papers.htm
Neither of your links is working for me, probably just an artifact of the new set-up. But hells yeah! If you have a legitimate, reputable source that is critical of Narconon and the CoS anti-psych bullshit, make it widely known and available. That would be great to add to the education pages. Most people are not going to read all the way through a scholarly article, so there needs to be a quick summary, but there are people who prefer to examine source material directly. At this point, I am unsure which will carry the day: memes and flyer/sign info-bites, or active discussion backed up with references. I sincerely believe we need both. The chaos and vapor of Anonymous opens up the door and the more serious discussion will wither the root and destroy what remaining shreds of legitimacy the CoS can cling to.
