Swung by Sea Org Bay yesterday morning for some light stretching. (Sea Org Alley is defunct now that the cafeteria in the basement of the SP Building is open). I plan on doing a full run today if the weather clears up. Good to be back in Mecca.
I should probably check that out huh? I hope so, otherwise a donation might be in order. Tried to raid this morning but they whipped out the injunction on me. After about 12 minutes of standing around they said it wasn't up to them to enforce it (which is exactly what a different officer said back during Flag Down). Antonio renewed a trespass warning that I received back in March as it had expired. Who knew you could renew them? And finally, a new wrinkle. One of the officers said a city ordinance about fire hazard prevented me from being between in front of any of their doors, which he interpreted as the entire area between the two sets of doors that are about maybe twenty yards apart. Seems like a rather liberal interpretation of "egress" to me. I might just have to challenge that.
And here's the video from this morning. As for what my goal is, that should be obvious. To alert the Sea Org of the true nature of the organization their labor sustains in the hope they might rethink their involvement in that organization.
What makes you think they're Sea Org? They look like OOTs to me. What did you say to them to inform them of the true nature of the organization? To me, your purpose is not obvious at all.
Any idea how would that work? (Eg: trip to police station, a call to a code enforcement officer, file something with a local court?)
Xander, I don't always agree with Jacobsen or Keller. But something struck me funny about this as well. The Thanksgiving holidays are generally shared with family and friends. But if you traveled all the way to CW from Chicago to protest during Thanksgiving week instead of being with family, there's a chance that others could view you as the one having mixed priorities, not the cult. That would include the police as well as culties themselves. There's also the element of holiday cheer and all that stuff. IMHO, protesting during these times gets people to psychologically sympathize with the other side. I'm not just talking about scientology but on any subject matter. I definitely admire your tenacity and balls of steel to solo raid in the belly of the beast. But the risks vs. rewards just don't seem very good. I just don't know how much can be done to sway the zombied out sea orgers at Flag by telling a few of them to read Jenna Miscavige's book. Aren't a whole bunch of them now non-English speaking anyways? In the meantime, the cult seems ready to use the injunction and has already nailed you on a trespass notice. So please be careful. The cult just isn't worth fucking up your own holidays by you having to spend time and money traveling to CW to defend yourself. Family comes first.
I'm insinuating nothing like what you are saying. Please re-read my post. I said I admire Xander's tenacity and balls of steel. We're on the same page about him on that. This is not about what you or I think. It's about what's been developing. The cult served Xander and others with the injunction at Flag Down in May. That's never happened before with any Anons. AmaX was served as well, saw an attorney and found she should not be protesting alone at Flag or risk cult bullshit. Xander has posted numerous times that he doesn't agree. IANAL so I'm not going to interpret anything about the injunction. But when Xander protests today, what happens? He gets seen by several cops and gets a trespass warning while doing the same thing he has been doing for years. AFAIK, that's never happened before either. Unless I'm wrong, I believe if he is found to be trespassing again, he doesn't get another warning, he gets arrested. So hell, now it's not even just about the injunction anymore. The cult can get him arrested for some funky trespass issue. I sure don't want to see that and that's why I'm posting my concern. So instead, let's all enjoy our families over the holidays - Xander too. Let's drink our adult beverages and imbibe in turkey and stuffing and shop all weekend while the culties toil and eat their rice and beans. The cult isn't going to be taken out by high risk, low return solo raids at the Mecca. It will be taken out by stuff like the public damage from the two documentaries coming out, the legal cases, etc. And that train is a-comin' very soon.
Thank you, Xander, for trying to plant seeds of doubt in the minds of people who will certainly not be spending this holiday with their families, even if they would like to. And also very likely will not be having much of a holiday at all. (And yes, he's gotten a trespass warning before--this is a renewal of that warning. Which, you know, he stated in his post above. Try to keep up.)
Xander do your thing not what everyone else thinks you ought to do. From where I sit it's a good thing too. Happy holidays however you choose to spend it.
Clearly xander your ability to protest has been hampered. Still, they are allowing you to protest so they must not see you as much of a threat.
I agree. Most, if not all members do not even know the truth about Jenna Miscaviage, where she is and that she is even out or wrote a book. So anyone could hear this and possible perk up and wake up enough to look into it or at least have some doubt. I support Xander or anyone with the balls to stand up and try to help as he does. Also he seems to be smart enough to know what he's doing and what he's up against.
Trespassing means stepping on their property, which I believe Xander did at some time. Now we know how they react, no one would even want to put a foot on their filthy property. The injunction is pretty moot and there's plenty of city space to walk on alongside.

As for how they react, many have known that for a long time, even way before anons, so thanks for stating the obvious. Your last sentence conflicts with the previous sentence, because you know, how they react is with injunctions and trespass warnings, so thanks for the nonsense. Same story, different day. They call the police and Sarah talks to the officers about the injunction, telling them I've been served with notice (which I freely admit to). I tell the police I'm not a named party so therefore it's inapplicable to me. Sarah says I'm acting in concert with one of the parties (who she later identifies as Bunker). I say file something in state court and have me added as a named party so the police will know its applies to me. I go on raiding, the cops write something down. They leave without even following up with me.
Oh, and btw, I think the officers are confusing the terms ordinance and injunction. The first officer on the scene today said the ordinance said I had to be at the end of the street, to which I said I wasn't anywhere near the door and then he mentioned the map that's an exhibit to the injunction. So forget about my earlier post about an expansive interpretation of the term "egress."
So the people who enforce the laws don't know the difference between an ordinance and an injunction. It makes you wonder if the inmates have taken over the asylum.

Oh thanks for reminding me Butterball. When I'm out there I can't tell you how many times I see eyes turn away when I suddenly turn and look at a new group of Sea Org. I can tell they're looking at the book and not at me because I hold it out from me when I'm out there and I can tell the difference. And of course they all look when they're on the buses too. Hopefully that adds to the all the other doubts they're harboring about being there.
Wonder if ANY will see their families for Christmas. May want to ask "who is going home for Christmas? and your family misses you."

<3 This time of year always makes me extra sad for these people. Knowing that simple things like time to themselves, a day of freedom away from Flag, toiletries that they have to buy with their own money and even toilet paper would make a welcomed Christmas present for them. Fucking sad.
Sounds potentially promising. But playing Devil's advocate, when I go to the store and see the Salvation Army person or even Girl Scout cookie girls, I will intentionally not make eye contact or try to avoid them. They of course are good people, but I just don't want to be bothered and will tune out anything they say. While I hope the messages are getting through, it's also possible the sea orgers might be doing a similar type thing. If you don't want to answer the next questions due to keeping things on the down-low, I'll understand. But have you actually had any Flag staff culties come up and take you up on your offer to help? Or have any of them thanked you for your message? Just real curious as you have been as active as anyone there for the past several years and I've been wondering if anything has actually gotten through to the zombies there.
I (and probably most other people) are the same way with Salvation Army bell ringers and Girl Scout cookie hawkers. But the difference is, do you try to look at them when you know they're not looking at you? Of course not. You don't care either way. So the fact that they're looking at the book at all tells me something is registering. As for the other stuff, yeah, whatever I might say about that would be used against me by Sarah so I'll pass.
