Dammit, Herro! I'm trying to win the argument, so stop making sense!
The Bill of Rights has never been amended, dumbass. The Constitution was amended--by the Bill of Rights. Y'know, those first ten AMENDMENTS? *rolls eyes*
Here's a theoretical test:
How would a governmentless free market society handle a Reaper invasion?
Research moar dumbass
Has anyone noticed how well the governmentless free-market society works in Somalia? They are a shining example of adhocrats ideals.
How about the Moon?
There is no government there... and no Pirates.
My bad bro.
Omg, I thought you were dead.
I think this was inevitable when they started rolling out body scanners on the highways and mobile TSA style checkpoints.
Well now it's not a mere airport thing.
And the crux of it is......if you ain't doing nothing wrong you have nothing to get your panties all twisted up about!
Unless of course your a self deluded fool who thinks what your doing in your hum drum life will be of great interest to the security services and worth them pumping untold man hours and resources into watching you in your mums basement bashing one off to kitty porn!
yep! that would do it.
I'm sorry but that is just an entirely irrational stance to take. What you are arguing would essentially only hold if the institutions of governance and the individuals that comprise those institutions were perfect. That is to say they never made any mistakes, and they never gave into abuse of power and authority. Human history makes it pretty clear that perfect governance is unlikely if not impossible.
By your logic the only people who should reject to suspension of the US Constitution and the establishment of a military dictatorship in its place would be those who are criminals. Such a strident stance is no more useful than the irrational nonsense that adhocrat spews.
I suppose what I was trying to say is that the myth that is the 99% will just go about their daily lives and this will not affect them. It's only the few that have interactions with the cops/security service that should be concerned, recent times and budgets mean the cops etc havnt got the resources to go hunting and harassing nobodies.
And the relevance of this post is........
A US judge has ruled that Apple, Google, Intel and other firms have to face their former employees in court in an antitrust lawsuit that alleges the firms conspired to keep wages down by stifling competition.
The three companies – along with Adobe, Intuit, Pixar and Lucasfilm – are accused in the class action suit of working together to eliminate competition for IT workers, thereby keeping their wages and mobility down, by agreeing not to poach each other's staff...
The fact that all six identical bilateral agreements were reached in secrecy among seven Defendants in a span of two years suggests that these agreements resulted from collusion, and not from coincidence.
Ah, isn't that nice, but again.....the relevance of the previous post is?
So we are just jumping in on any thread with OMG posts about random shit now?
Wait, you're not dead? Where have you been?
To briefly, and inadequately, summarize: This Thread is about the Supreme Court and strip searches on people arrested and in lockup; police powers; and by extension powers of the state over the people, especially with respect to law enforcement and policing.
If your posted article about the anti-trust lawsuit is related, make the case that it is. Don't just keep posting.
@ adhocrat & Herro. Governments are a necessary evil, vital to running a planet of 8 billion people.
Governments pretty much suck, but are definitely needed, to prevent total anarchy.
Bitch slapping each other on this topic is a waste of time for chanology. Please keep shutting down Scientology in focus here, not debating wishy-washy government ideals.
Keep discussion on scientology, in the forum designated for topics other than scientology? I got a better idea, you peasant- how about you go fuck yourself?
Where is the go fuck yourself forum?
It's under the banner of "occupy wall street"
