That's the way British government works, folks. Your constituency MP is your path to high government even if you didn't vote for them and never would because they represent a party you hate. I beats a petition every time.

Nice. One minor change: it was City Of London Police rather than the Met.

If there is an issue this Sunday and again next Sunday then this would be unbelievably good timing for another initiative being worked on.

I think it should go in the London rates relief thread.

I'm not sure what to make of it. Could Tony Blair phone up the CoLCorp and talk them into giving mandatory rates relief to Scn? I would think that he could. Did he? I somehow doubt it but then this was a very unusual situation for the CoLCorp to be in and any nudge from a higher-up could have influenced it.

Maybe this could be another FOIA request from WT to ask about any communication from Tony or Cherie Blair regarding the Scn rates relief granted in the CoLCorp.

Whenever you write to local councillors or MPs as always focus on the "public benefit" issue, that's it.

In respect to changes in the local govt. finance act that is crucial.

Remember at the moment most are considered "guidelines" and as seen by the CoL not alot of research into the claims of "public benefit" are followed through in detail.
