Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal I just had to. To the tune of "Still Alive" from Portal This is a protest I’m making a note here, “name withheld” It’s hard to overstate my indignation Scientology We do what me must to show the truth And we’ll stay anonymous So that you can’t silence us This religion is not what it appears to be They make you feel bad and then they take your money And they claim to clear your mind, but afterwards you will find Out the lies of Scientology David Miscavige Scientology ruined lives You kept your niece Jenna away from family And what about Lisa? She could have been helped by medicine But instead she got locked up And died from dehydration Now don’t you start crying cause a protest was made We’re not breaking copyright and we’re not afraid To tell everyone we know there is something we must show The actions of Scientology And don’t try to sue me I think I prefer to stay unknown Maybe you’ll find someone else to brainwash Maybe Sean Connery That was a joke, ha ha, fat chance Scientologists listen The Org is lying to you You don’t need to pay for your spiritual guide Any real religion would welcome you inside Don’t write reports on your friends, don’t go bankrupt but instead, Leave the Church of Scientology And believe me, Scientology We tell the truth of Scientology Look up facts on Scientology We have a name for Scientology It’s a cult It’s a cult I recorded it.. except I'm not sure I want to share such fail with the world. ^^;
nice. i'm sure if you look hard enough you can get one of those computer voice things to sing that for you.
Eh, I dunno. I'm holding out on a friend with a guitar and a slightly better voice to sing it for me; also I really don't want my voice getting spread all over the intertubes... Any questions on cadence, however, I'll answer if you're interested in singing it (that first "scientology" where "aperture science" should go has funny emphasis, etc.)
Anyone up for sending that to the guy who wrote the original? It's absolute genious by the way, especially with the association it has with a lot of the crowd here.
I sent it to him. I figure it's his tune after all, and I have a lot more respect for Jonathan Coulter than I do the CoS. If he disapproved I'd even remove the lyrics. Hopefully he'll get a laugh ^^;
I am trying to record one with vocoder settings to keep it anonymouse, but i've had to take some liberty with your lyrics, some of them just don't fit well into the song. If I record a good copy, i'll sync it to the music and post it.
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal I would greatly enjoy trying a hand at singing this. Just because.
Re: for portal they actually had an actress sing it and modify that voice with effects but... I highly encourage someone doing this up Peter Frampton style
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal Holy crap! Great minds think alike! (I confess I may have come up with this in the shower.) Though I just took the original and switched some words. Plus I just skipped a more irrelevant part. Mainly I was comparing Aperture Science to Scientology, how they use people. The "ones who are dead" line is especially creepy. Plus the original cake part works as it is L Ron's birthday. Though maybe for parody's sake it's better to use your own lyrics. Anyway, here's my simpler attempt.
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal An idea for you, btw. What about trying to find a kareoke version of it, and use a Vocoder or voice-disruptor and sing on it? Would keep in character of the Anon youtube vids.
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal Recorded myself singing it. Lulz in it, not sure if I want to post it openly.
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal Dammit! And I just started uploading my version on YouTube. :xenu: (Though in my defense, I wrote mine sometime last week.) Your version is neat! Oh well. Mine's lyrically slanted in a different fashion, I guess, so I'll leave it there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFs5ORsAN8s
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal Oh, man. That's pretty sweet. Makes my little anonymous heart swell with pride, and all that. Do you think it'd be plausible to, on March 15, pass out the lyrics or something and have a group sing that to the church? We need to emphasize emphatically that we are trying to help Scientologists, and not attacking the individuals or their beliefs.
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal Anonnyminstrel, I think yours is the best one so far - and I was thinking about writing yet another version! :xenu:
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal QFT and Great Justice - Only 133 views?!?!?? What the hell?
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal ha ha ha. oh man. that's fantastic. i have but one suggestion for it though: could you make the lyrics smaller so that more fit on the screen (or maybe make them just a bit smaller and scroll the words across the bottom) and could you find some way of making it a bouncing-ball type sing-along? it was a little hard to match the syllables to the music at times. Other than that it was awesome.
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal Thanks, everyone! That would be an idea full of win! The problem, though, is that there's at least six or seven versions of the song floating around out there, all by different people. There would have to be some way for everyone to see and learn one version... I don't have the software to do the bouncy-ball thing. :xenu: And making the text smaller is something I tried while making the video, and it just...it wasn't what I was going for, I guess is the best way to describe it. The bigger ones are easier to read (and it does my little soul good to see the word 'corrupted' branded on DM, among other things).
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal could you at least post the lyrics to the side info of the video (in the same format as the original portal song of course) so that we might see the individual lines of lyrics? this'll help people follow along with the song a little better.
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal Stickied for a few days - this is absolutely excellent, and someone needs to get on actually singing the song
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal link to offtopic thread on the same subject: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=2678
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal I'm going to attempt this tommorrow, probably using the shite MIDI music off-vocals - if anybody could get me the real off-vocals that would be good. Legally, preferably. I like JoCo.
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal can't someone just slap this into vocaloid2 or something?
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal FAIL VOICE IS FAIL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9F0bUT1Vu9U To clarify, MY FAIL VOICE IS FAIL Good lyrics though. Hopefully someone with better recording equipment and a DECENT VOICE will get off their ass and make something halfway decent instead of this tripe I just made. > >
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal My friend's a lead singer in a local band. I'll hook up with him this monday. :tom:
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal I love yours. I'll try to get my fellow anon, his guitar and I to sit in front of a camera and record as soon as we can.
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal Bumped, just learned how to play still alive, so I'm working on a recording. Failvoice is fail so forgive me.
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal I found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oQn66gvwKA when i was looking for a GlaDOS voice generator. It's not what i was looking for, but maybe someone will find it useful. Also, i'm not sure if you can make a good GlaDOS singing voice with this. It's beyond my level of audio shooping skillz either way.....
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal I think the author of the original "Still Alive" might enjoy this. He might even post about it on his blog, http://jonathancoulton.com/ . Maybe we should let him know. Hint hint.
Re: Song...? Set to "Still Alive" from Portal I did e-mail him; he said it was kinda cute. Mentioned that he'd read a book or something on Scientology and that they were pretty weird. (it was aweosme that he responded!)
