These uniforms with medals could be a BIG downstat. /r/equsting someone in the know to identify those medals please. Who designed the uniforms? Why does a church need uniforms and swords.

The level of faggotry reached with the sea orgAN's cute little paramilitary uniforms is truly staggering.

The big red one on top......Meritorious Unit Commendation with Oak Leaf Cluster....Only thing to check is the size... [1 7/16 inches wide and 9/16 inch in height. The emblem consists of a 1/16 inch wide Gold frame with laurel leaves which encloses a Scarlet 67111 ribbon]. That could be how they get around US CODE...

You, all of you, are so brilliant. I am laughing so hard right now.

Btw, when I was in the SO I didn't wear the uniform cause I was only in a couple months. But if I was out with any $cilon wearing a uniform in public they would always get questioned by peeps about what was up with the uniform. It was an embarrissment more than anything because the SO person could never answer in a coherant way. The "wogs" would just walk away shaking their heads. It makes them look like total assholes.

There is a list of SO medals and what they stand for in the Sea Arrrgh Uniform thread somewhere. It's long and full of the usual crap. They can't feed people but they can make em a bunch of fake medals?

Anyone want to buy a bunch of these :
    View Image
and send them to Gold base, to the Terror Midget himself?

They'd be more appropriate for the SO uniforms.
I've actually seen ones similar to these in various dollar stores. Just a suggestion if your putting together a Sea Arrrhg uniform.

Again, these people have every right to wear whatever they want. The only law is what restricts CONGRESSIONAL medals and honors (Let's just say that list is tiny). It does not matter in the slightest if they copy, for instance, an actual purple heart and wear it. So long as they do not CLAIM they have earned a purple heart - they are doing nothing wrong but being tacky.

I admit, it's tacky as hell to me, a soldier, to see these freaks parodying fellow servicemembers uniforms, but it's their RIGHT to do so, and they should be allowed to do so. The pride we have in our uniforms isn't the colors or the fabrics, which is all these sideshows have - colors, fabrics, and a whole lot of crappy karma.

I've been looking at the photo of Miscavige's ribbons too & they do not look like US military (I'm not an authority however), but I wish I had a clearer picture. The top one looks like a North Vietnam insignia.

Here is a list of countries military ribbons Medals of the World if anyone has time to burn.

Not quite right....U.S. Code Title 18 Section 704. Military medals or decorations sub section (a)
In General.— Whoever knowingly wears, manufactures, or sells any decoration or medal authorized by Congress for the armed forces of the United States, or any of the service medals or badges awarded to the members of such forces, or the ribbon, button, or rosette of any such badge, decoration or medal, or any colorable imitation thereof, except when authorized under regulations made pursuant to law, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

Congress has to authorize any and all ribbons, medals, and awards worn by the U.S. Military.

Sub section (b) covers the Congressional Medal of Honor.

The pope is the elected head of a state(!), the State of the Vatican City. He is the sovereign of this territory. Vatican City has its own police force, the swiss guard are the bodyguards of the pope and is on duty for about 500 yrs now.

The Vatican military, the Palatine Guard was disbanded in 1970.

I'm not even catholic or raised in such environment but sorry this a big stretch if you compare that.

And I pretty sure that compared on an intellectual level to the Pope DM is like a pre-schooler.

The current Pope holds a doctors degree has habilitated to Professor and has held chairs at the Universities of Munich, Bonn, Münster, Tübingen and Regensburg. He is still a Honoraryprofessor in Regensburg.
The before was also a Professor at the Universities of Krakow and Lublin.

Do you really think that compares to to a highschool dropout with wanna-be-uniforms?

This. Also the Swiss Guard can also get married, have kids, take vacations, receive decent wages, don't have to agree with everything the Pope says, don't get beaten up by the Pope*, etc....

*Unless they WANT to. Supposedly the Vatican has a huge porn collection, probably there's a Dungeon as well. :fuckyou:

    An aside:

Here's an interesting piece about LRon, his ship and a skirmish at a port of call. Too bad the Portuguese didn't make him and DM walk the plank.

My dad got mad at me in high school because I used to wear one of his old naval jackets to school for kitschy value...he said "impersonating an officer" via the decorations on his jacket was a punishable offense. He said I wasn't allowed to wear the patches or decorations on the jacket because of this. True?

The sense I get from a cursory reading is that in the USA previously the punishment was mostly for those under military justice, so that civilians could do a lot without punishment but the Medal of Honor had stronger protection. Now with all the fake soldiers popping up since the start of the GWOT it has become stricter and more medals are protected with civilian punishments.

I have some real military ribbons (decorations and merit badges), but I'm NOT going to wear them to the protest even if I can wear the actual medals on a civilian jacket when I want to. Since we can't wear uniforms to political protests, I'm not going to wear any real medals either. I'll go mad with trim and lace though - since our navy uses a loop on all ranks lieutenant and above, there's no chance of confusion with a Sea Org uniform if you know what to look for.

They were on a diet where they only ate strick?

PS: A thing that might be safe to wear is the "Foreign Decoration Placeholder", but of course if you're wearing a servicemember wearing an actual uniform you'll be in trouble for abusing that one too.

Re: Scn's latest Sea Arrhg Ad May 08

I highly doubt there's anything wrong with the uniforms they're wearing... to a lesser extent, the Boy Scouts imitate military uniform, and even use similar patches and merit badges to track rank and accomplishments respectively. Now, if any of the badges or medals the Sea Ogres have on are in fact direct replicas of military stuff, then it's against the law, but if they're just playing look-alike they're no worse than the Scouts.

... at least in this regard.

Re: Scn's latest Sea Arrhg Ad May 08

On the subject of Boy Scouts, I wouldn't be surprised if some countries actually allow their soldiers to have a ribbon on their military uniforms which represent completed Eagle Scout or something like that. There are at least several civilian merit badges which are authorized for wearing, and also ribbons for foreign decorations.

(For any Norwegians lurking, the Norwegian military has recently merged all sports and marksmanship ribbons into two new ribbons - except for the popular Nijmegen march medal which still retains its own ribbon. Oh noes, your ribbon salad is getting reduced! Chief of defense agreed, don't bother him about it. Now you can only wear all your medals as the actual full medals.)

You know what would be awesome? If - by some strange OT intervention - a REAL US Navy band would happen to march by one of the protests in June while playing a brass band version of Never Gonna Give You Up.
