Scientology-linked nonprofit buys Larry Hagman's Ojai estate - Ventura County Star

By Stephanie Hoops, April 5, 2013

The Ojai estate actor Larry Hagman dubbed “Heaven” has been sold to a nonprofit Scientology group.

The 32-acre property atop Sulphur Mountain sold for $5 million cash to Social Betterment Properties International, a nonprofit that states its mission is to “develop and maintain buildings and other real estate utilized by social betterment organizations carrying out programs that utilize technology and methods developed by L. Ron Hubbard and that are associated with and supported by the Scientology religion.”

    nice find WG!
  7. Combating literacy?

Was that in the tax filing itself, or only in the article referencing it? (Would be nice if it was official.)
  8. Larry Hagman died in November and his wife, Maj Hagman, has Alzheimer’s disease.

    Today, Tony Ortega wrote:

In our comments, Luke Catton confirms that as early as 2005, Narconon officials were talking about creating a special rehab facility for celebrities. It looks like that’s what the Hagman estate will become.

Speculation about using the place as Narconon rehab for Tom Cruise's celebutard friends makes sense to me. Need moar intel on Ojai, neighbors, government officials, media etc. for harpooning.

"Social Betterment Properties International has received grants and renovated properties in use for combating literacy, improving morality and exposing “abusive and dangerous psychiatric practices,” according to a 2007 tax filing."

how does ths make any sense if this location will be used for pampered Sci celebs?

In our experience, it's easier to keep a NN out than get rid of one once established. And I must say, if their posts are anything to go by, Delphi grads are definitely a product of "combating literacy." Or, as Isaac Hayes' website stated, "Irradicating illiteracy."

Tom Cruise Set to Move into Larry Hagman’s Old House? | Gossip Cop

Is Tom Cruise set to be living under the radar in Ojai, California?

According to the National Enquirer, the actor will be inhabiting the late Larry Hagman’s 43-acre estate after the Church of Scientology allegedly purchased it.

“Tom just fell in love with the property,” an “insider” tells the outlet. “He loves the privacy, the spectacular views, the extraordinary craftsmanship and beautiful woodwork in the home — which also includes a massive secret room that contains a state-of-the-art safe that’s so HUGE, it had to be installed by a crane before the mansion was built around it!”

    How nice.

Unfortunately, when it comes to Cruise and real estate, the Enquirer keeps whiffing.

A source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop there’s no truth to the Ojai story.

The article in The National Enquirer that was mentioned a few posts up is now online.

Scoop: Mystery Star Who’ll Live In Hagman's House! | The National Enquirer

    By Mike Walker

After the sale of LARRY HAGMAN’s magnificent 43-acre estate in California’s upscale Ojai – a city so beautiful it’s nicknamed “Shangri-La” – word quickly leaked that it had been purchased by the Church of Scientology, but neighbors kept asking the question: Who would actually be living there?

Well, here’s the scoop: Turns out the actual inhabitant of “J.R.” Hagman’s real-life Southfork will be none other than Scientology’s Golden Boy himself, Master of the Universe TOM CRUISE!

“Tom just fell in love with the property,” said an estate insider.

Mr. Miscavige introduced a monumental accomplishment: a network of sprawling Ideal Narconon training centers serving every continental zone. This string of facilities serve to aid those caught in the throes of drug abuse to rehabilitate their minds and bodies. Each is elegantly appointed and set in areas of pristine pastoral grandeur. They include premises in East Sussex, England; Ontario, Canada; Hovedstaden, Denmark; Mexico State, Mexico; New South Wales, Australia; Gauteng, South Africa;and finally, a glorious hilltop estate in picturesque Ojai, California. — with David Miscavige Leader of Scientology at Church of Scientology.

Atop the mountains of Ojai, California, just 90 minutes from Los Angeles, stands a Narconon that will provide drug rehabilitation services to artists and leaders of society. The Mediterranean-style estate has been set up to deliver everything from withdrawal and detoxification to special courses that provide former addicts with the skills they need to live drug-free. — in Ojai, California.

I wonder how much money they need to gut that gorgeous place and "renovate" it to LRH standards.
  34. Looks like they already have:

The IAS Freedom Medal for 2014 was bestowed upon three exemplary Scientologists: Vlastimil Spalek, a Czech “cyclorunner” who crisscrossed his nation by bike and on foot, spearheading a Truth About Drugs movement to ultimately halt spiraling drug abuse in the Czech Republic; Maria Lara, an exquisite Colombian actress who energetically used the common-sense values of The Way to Happiness to galvanize industries and military personnel in five nations; and Kate Ceberano, the Australian musical superstar who for some three decades has tirelessly championed Scientology as a humanitarian voice for freedom.— with Kate Ceberano and David Miscavige Leader of Scientology at Church of Scientology.

It could also be more of their fake computer graphics that they do years in advance so that Miscavige has something to wank to.

Scientology is turning Larry Hagman’s house into a drunk tank for celebs | The Underground Bunker

Well, Mike Rinder called it, and on Friday night, Scientology leader David Miscavige confirmed it: After purchasing the hilltop Ojai estate of Larry Hagman from the actor’s widow last year, the church will be turning the place into a drug rehab clinic for celebrities who need to dry out.

That was one of several announcements made by Miscavige as he held forth on Friday night’s annual International Association of Scientologists gala in a big tent on the grounds of Saint Hill Manor, the church’s UK headquarters and L. Ron Hubbard’s home from 1959 to 1966.

  40. That area like most of California is dry and tan for most of the year but usually has a couple of weeks of green in the early spring.
