Strongest quake in 25 years strikes Bay Area | CNN

A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Northern California early Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

It was the strongest to hit the Bay Area since 1989, when a quake struck during the World Series.

Sunday's earthquake struck 4 miles northwest of American Canyon, 6 miles southwest of Napa, and 9 miles southeast of Sonoma, according to the USGS.

I was so delighted to FINALLY meet Meow Man, whom I'd heard so much about! He was such an enthusiastic and determined protester... it was difficult for me to believe anyone could resist taking a flyer from him. He would actually try to chase down the people who (somehow!) ignored him or just couldn't be bothered.

The sun beat down fiercely, but at least it made for some great pics! Thanks for posting them.

Meanwhile...

Have you ever gone around to different businesses, hoping they'll let you hang up a flyer advertising the high school musical, or asking if anyone had seen your lost cat?

You know how you ASK someone working there if you can hang up your flyer?

San Francisco Scientologists couldn't be bothered with that whole "permission" thing.

They sneaked his flyer into the restaurant we go to post-raid... it was inside the restaurant, on the wall right by the door. So they had obviously tried to do the whole thing secretly, slipping in unnoticed, and making a quick getaway.

But we didn't take it down -- that wasn't our decision... we alerted the people who work there, and asked them if they had granted the Scientologists permission to hang up the flyer. The guy took it down right away. But not before I took a picture.

Hard to believe all of the little tear-off notes were still intact. I mean, for goodness' sake! It's a $500 value!

Meow Man was thrilled to meet S2G (although he calls her Skeptic Girl) and Moar. He wanted to have dinner with you and wouldn't eat in the city without you & Moog. So we went to the beach!
He was really aggressive about handing out his flyers. He kept telling people "don't throw it away." He finished giving them out when we were walking to Starbucks and the park. We'll have to make more the next time.
He had so much fun and wants to do it again. He loves his Guy Fawkes look! Didn't want to take it off. Had to put it back on today.
He's a real die hard.
Beware scientology! Your future is him!

The pics are really good and how cute is that kid? I can't imagine passersby not stopping to smile and say hello. (And then finding out about the evil cult that hurts kids and families).

Meow Man, the hero the San Francisco org deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So they'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Mite.

And, lest we forget... "with great power comes great responsibility..."

ps: moog pointed out later that some of the passersby might have thought that we were making the little guy pass them out, in order to manipulate them with his cuteness. but this was honestly something meow man was INSISTING to do! His nana was just telling him of the right thing to say when he approached people... and believe me, we never let him get more than a few feet from us...

Good Show! I used to boast that I started protesting before some of the current protesters were born, but that's not such a big deal anymore :-(

SFAnon joins Disconnected Twin and Meow Man for a little Caturday Afternoon action at the Scientology Ideal Org of San Francisco. Meow Man is 3 years old, and he won't know his Nanna's Twin due to forced Scientology Disconnection. he wants to make a difference, and protesting with us was all his idea. very little was happening for Scientology, in 2 1/2 hours we saw about half a dozen staff, including "Mom", Josh, and Danny Quiros, zero public. "Where Is The Love?" is a special request going out to Ethics Trouble at the end. (hug)
