Safe Wi-Fi hotspots in Tehran

  1. Right now, there are none but if people from other countries and wrote their State Department or equivalent asking them to provide free Wi-Fi access at their embassies in Tehran and consulates in other Iranian cities, it would go a long way in providing a safe means for Iranians to keep in touch with their families outside the country and get their stories out.
  2. Hmmm that is a good idea. I wonder if it would work. A country doing such a work would basically be inviting political scandal. But it could be done covertly. Putting some powerful Wi-Fi systems in the consulate, give out the passwords to the general populance covertly and accept that they will be totally exploiting your bandwidth... How can we convince our government to do this?
