Protester arrested at "Stand Tall" raid at Celebrity Centre, Aug. 6, 2011

Any more info on outcome? Was the protester booked/jailed/bonded/charged?

I agree that yelling fuck you at the policemen is not the smartest thing in the universe, however if you watch the video carefully, the cop instigated the whole thing. He was the one to initially push the protester. Then came the fuck you. Then came the very violent potentially dangerous shove. I absolutely do not think this shove was justifiable. The cop was not in danger, the protester was walking away from the "protected zone", rather than towards it and there is no indication that the protester was going to break the barrier or not to keep peace. This shove was nothing but a reaction to "fuck you". Now, what does a code of LA Police says? Are policemen allowed to assault citizens for saying profanities at them? I honestly doubt that.

No idea, but I bet he'll be released at a speed of light. He committed no crime and yet was forced to face police brutality.

Important question: was the guy an Anon(or OG, I suppose... :/ ) or wasn't he?

I really don't care if some guy who happened to be there at the same time as you got arrested. If he was one of ours, that's a different story. Please clarify.

Common sense is simple and cheap.

After the policeman violently shoved the protester he was compelled to arrest him and charge him with something to try and justify and cover what he did to the protester.

In most jurisdictions there's an unwritten offense known as "contempt of cop." It's usually charged as Disturbing the Peace, Public Profanity, resisting arrest, disobeying the instructions of an LEO, or something similar culled from the local laws. Successful prosecution usually depends on a lack of reliable citizen witnesses. The fact that this incident was mostly captured on video, plus there were non-police witnesses, would tend to argue that the protester will not be in any trouble and may have grounds for a complaint against the cop and the city.

Remember the Ideal Org opening in Nashville, where the Spring Hill (iirc) cops moonlighting as security for the org went batshit on anon? They were fueled by the juice of a thousand lies from the nice, friendly Scientologists, expressing their fears of death threats, bomb threats, helping tards kill themselves on the internet, all the random and sometimes distasteful things done anonymously online.

I can't speak about the Protestor line, but I can about the police officer. He wasn't just out of line, he was out of control. He needs to be immediately removed from the front and put on both investigation lines as well as evaluation. Police officers have a tough enough job without the rogues. They don't want them on the force anymore than you and I do.

It is considered "excessive force" and the LAPD has had an issue with it for many years... thanks to some bad LAPD cops, like this, the City of LA has had pay off millions of dollars in settlements & damages due to bad cops & the their supervisors who turn a blind eye to it. I suggest whomever took the video of the incident make copies and keep the original in a safe place.. it could soon fall under subpoena.

This Hispanic cop is called all the time for Scientology events that require moonlighting cops.. I recognize him from past protests... OSA head Ken Long, as a matter of practice, has long kept a list of his favorites.. LAPD cops that use their discretion to benefit the cult... and when the cult needs cops to work their events, Long will request this cop personally... it works both ways...

It benefits the cult to get an officer willing to use his police authority to follow their directives.. and this officer can depend on getting consistent moonlighting jobs whenever Scientology puts on an event.
