Absolutely. The arrested protester needs to consult with an attorney & show him this video. A police officer may have had reasonable cause to arrest the guy, but violently shoving him the way that he did was reckless & a violation of policy. I would urge the protester to speak to a lawyer.. forget complaining to the LAPD.. they'll just cover for the abusive cop.

Ok, so my obvservation from the video is:

1. the guy should learn that telling ''fuck you'' to a cop is never a good idea.

2. The cop was quite an asshole, and aggressive, not sure if he had a right to push him like that, but here this shit could get a cop in trouble.

I don't know what the guy said to them but the police man reacted very violently the video shows it all

It's always better to think "FUCK YOU" than to scream it @ an angry, aggressive cop who thinks he's playing John Shaft in the anon video.

One more stumble after the cop's attack and this protestor could have easily been hit by a car or fallen to the ground, eating pavement and flopping around like a flounder screaming in pain (Scientology style) for a lawyer, I mean a doctor, ftw.

This excellent anon video is bad news for this angry, out of control, attacking cop who should pay in one way or another for this poorly handled arrest.

Well informed on Hollywood street closure laws, are we? (that's Hollywood CALIFORNIA) not that fake Florida dump with oranges.

Looks to me like this:

1. Mr. Injured Fingers was standing on the public side of a street barrier filming another protester who was pacing and talking on a cell phone while being shadowed by one of LA's finest.

2. Officer Gayface walked up behind Mr. Fingers, bumped his sign, then directed him to move away from the barricade.

3. Mr. Fingers complied, walking backward while continuing to film.

4. Officer Gayface reached up and grabbed Mr. Fingers' camera with his right hand, then made a quick twisting motion.

5. A moment later Mr. Fingers, off camera, could be heard to say, "Oww! Fuck!" and then "Fuck you!"

6. Officer Gayface returned to face Mr. Fingers.

7. Mr. Fingers said, "What's [wrong] with you?"

8. Officer Gayface then put his right hand on Mr. Fingers' shoulder, forcefully pushing him backward so that he lost his balance and nearly fell into oncoming traffic on a busy street.

There is something seriously wrong with Officer Gayface.

Yes^ his "fuck you" was in response to being shoved the first time, the second harder shove by the leo was done in retaliation for the "fuck you".

Shame the guy rose to the cop's bait but when I saw the cop touch him the first time I thought it was out of line. Very good work that it was caught on camera.

I wonder if the video from Mr. Fingers' camera still exists.

Mixing it up a little, I see.

I'm thinking this is key: "4. Officer Gayface reached up and grabbed Mr. Fingers' camera with his right hand, then made a quick twisting motion." A person reacting to unexpected pain can be expected to let out some cussing, almost involuntarily. This would be entirely different if he was cussing because of a debate about sidewalk permit.

I did not see a first shove, only the camera grab and twist. The grab seemed gratuitous as Mr. Fingers had already placed himself where Officer GayFace had indicated.

The twist is quick but obvious, and I can imagine the camera holder's fingers being bent backward painfully, which would explain his exclamation of, "Ow! Fuck!" Someone with video skills might be able to slow the frame rate down for that portion of the clip.

Officer Gayface looks like he could be one of those theatrical wrestling pro types. Imma warm up my popcorn popper whilst I await the appearance of his dox on the webs.

Sweetheart, the basic concept of a street closure permit is to close the street to people you don't want there. I'm sorry, I didn't realize I had to explain that to you.
