http://www.ushahidi.com/ What it does? The Ushahidi Engine is a platform that allows anyone to gather distributed data via SMS, email or web and visualize it on a map or timeline. Our goal is to create the simplest way of aggregating information from the public for use in crisis response. Similarly, we can set up a simple DB with Google Maps and allow trusted sources to mark certain locations where their may be confrontations.
I recently have contacted Ushahidi to download it and do this exact thing. Would be willing to host it and URL it and do some design work, and my wife and I can get a Farsi translation going if some others are interested in helping get the install set up and doing some other custom work as mentioned above. Ushahidi installed, setup under way, need cunning linguists Looking for some Farsi speaking peeps to help with the language set for Ushahidi. I'm compiling the prhases needed now. We've got one person, but it's a lot for one person.
