For a four block area? And no one bitched during the 72 hour period set aside for bitching? What do they put in that Portland coffee?

Toronto requires insurance documentation. That would have been fun.

The Scilons put money in the coffee. I'm not kidding when they paid the businesses. We had a member talk to the owner of the bookstore on the corner who confirmed.

And you would know this how?
  5. Weeaboo Member

I talked to different police officers and also business members. As you can see in one of the above pictures, the black officer was totally in support of us protesting Scientology and told us everything he knew about the permits. It's honestly not that hard to get film permits in Portland. I also heard testimonies from different business owners along there about it.

I think Mark actually got better footage of the cult's paranoia and bizarre actions toward outsiders, than anything he could have gotten filming that little p-o-shit Miscavige. It's tends to put the public's conspiracy theory mania into overdrive. Why is the cult so secretive? What are they hiding? Are they hiding their rituals because normal Americans might be shocked? Why do they act like the Nazi's - they have no police powers to order people around. Lots of questions, hope Mark can really make some good pieces for his documentary.

So just to inform anyone looking at this, who can make the trip. PDX Anonymous is planning on restarting Monthly protests of the Church of $cientology. We are determined to stop the church from making the city theirs.

For those who didn't attend, you will be amused by the fact they have opened up across the street from Portland's Primer Gay Strip Club, the Silverado, Apparently, they sent operatives in to coerce patrons to go to the church. We had an ex-patron come tell us all of this and he refuses to go there again. It's obvious that this Ideal Org is going to end up failing in one of the most Liberal, Homosexual Friendly cities in the US.

I'll keep you updated on when we are going to protest.

And here's the cult's press release:

New Ideal Church Of Scientology Blooms In The City Of Roses

On Saturday, May 11, the Church of Scientology Portland celebrated the grand opening of their new home in the city’s historic downtown quarter. More than 2,500 Scientologists and guests joined city and state dignitaries for the dedication ceremony.

    Excerpt:

In recognition of Portland’s new Church, Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center and ecclesiastical leader of the Scientology religion, led the dedication. His inaugural address spoke to the history of Scientology in Portland and specifically the events surrounding a first Scientology Freedom Crusade of 1985:

“Portland was our test,” Mr. Miscavige explained. “It was a test of our resolve, our fortitude and determination to avert a grave assault on the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. So when you look at where we stand today, remember it was all because our voices were heard 28 years ago.”

“In that respect,” he added, “your destiny has always foretold of the day when this Church would become a testament to what originally drew so many thousands to these streets. Namely, that our inherent right to spiritual salvation is intrinsically linked to tolerance, brotherhood and the right of every faith to champion the divinity of humankind. That this Church further stands for drug-free, crime-free, literate, moral and happy lives, is only the beginning; for with a hard-won right of religious freedom comes your responsibility to deliver that long sought goal of total freedom. And so I ask that you now extend your help to all who would dream of such a freedom, so they, too, may realize their destiny.”

I'm going to ask again. Did Tony Ortega post that WBM was going to be filming the day before the Idle Morgue opening?

Your question is ambiguous. What's the issue? The date of filming, or posting, or something else?
  30. Anonymous Member

    No. Not that I saw.

OSA was ready was on the lookout for known protesters. Hawkins says he was followed but gave his handler the slip.

Perhaps the Silverado gay bar would like to know what Hubbard's views were pertaining to gay people?

Anonymous was the spark, but the fuel was there in abundance. The endless Scientology tricks and lies, the horrible abuses and the crimes were all there. The Scientology survivors and the witnesses were all there in large numbers. The continuing crimes, so carefully covered up, were all there.

Trying to figure out if Tony Ortega informed everyone that WBM was going to film the next day. IMO something like that should have been kept under wraps.
