Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning That would present a nice opportunity for pooning local officials with photos and other dox. Y'know, if people wanted to take constructive steps to cripple the cult.
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning looks like we can hit them on four fronts, and one will be real close to the event. also mercantile between fair oaks and raymond is just an alley
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning I interviewed with several media sources in Pasadena today... expect a few to show up on Sunday.
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning Lucky Baldwin Sellout. A server told me the owner reached an agreement with compensation from CoS.
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning is it possible to get a sound permit this soon before? i mean, what if someone wants to play some music like some journey, or ac/dc
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning yep. and mercantile on the other side looks like an alley with no outlet. (color codes on the googlemap are full of cox and speculation. But I think the "barricade" markers may be legit. Plus barricades are required to be manned. Maybe lulz if they're not all manned by offduty cops)

Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning Darn, I was hoping Lucky Baldwins would stay open. Well...not all of their customers will know ahead of time they are closed...so we will be able to speak to their customers anyway...as well as all other pedestrians wondering what the fuck is going on. So, any idea with the "Old School" parking structure that surrounds them?
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning Still, the locals were fond of it. And the old tenants were much loved, it seems. Old thread: La Fornaretta Pasadena -What Happend? - Los Angeles Area - Chowhound a few signs might not hurt
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning Too bad for the regular folks. Must have had a lot of character with the restaurant there. There is something really ugly about the color scheme of the building. The front conflicts with the side and the gold/brown colors are really bad news. I think it looked better with its aged, old Pasadena look.
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning At aleast it's not blue! What I hate is that they stuccoed over the porter's window on the side facing Lucky Baldwin's. Can they do that to an historical building? My first post, BTW. I'll see what I can do to at least give support on Sunday.
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning So it sounds like we are talking about Colorado Blvd, as close to Raymond as we can get?
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning Neomeze is right down Mercantile from there (close to the 35er) and has happy hour 5-7 every day!
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning GOOD QUESTION! I don't know the answer, but these people might. Pasadena Heritage : Welcome According to this article: SkyscraperPage Forum - View Single Post - PASADENA Projects & Updates Pasadena Heritage - has an easement on the building's exterior and must approve any changes As of 6/2008 they were... annoyed with Scientology. Its probably worth contacting them. If they really have a legal easement, then there really is [something or another] they can do to kick up a stink. Whether they care to or not, dunno. Welcome!
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning Someone want to buy a bag of ice? I should be able to bring dispocups, maybe water too. I have to decide whether or not to drive.
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning How are you going to lug a bag of ice around? I would highly suggest you buy bottles of water and carry a knapsack. The logistics for the event will be interesting as the area around the org is crazy with tourist traffic on Sunday, particularly on Colorado Blvd. There are places open on Colorado Blvd & Fair Oaks (one block W of Raymond) where you can purchase food & drink. I can't get any info from the Pasadena PD other than parts of Raymond will be fenced off and covered in the usual tarp so wogs can't see in. I've been informed the cult has also hired a private security firm to assist in locking down the area. I highly suggest every anon carrying with them a cellphone with 9-1-1 on their speed dial.
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning FYI - if you drive 2-3 blocks S on Raymond or Fair Oaks past the org, there are quite a few parking meter spots around a large park (if you don't want to park in a garage).
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning Thanks for the info! Do you know how long the meters run on a Sunday? I don't want to have to be running and feeding meters every hour.
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning anyone taking the gold line over PM me your area and I'll help you get there.
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning Does Pasadena require permits for protesting? Have "suitable contacts" been informed Anon is coming to the party? (I suspect "no" to the first and "yes" to the second, but just trying to confirm. thx)
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning You're correct on both. Plus, it is well known that the paranoid OSAbots monitor WWP 24/7. Huh, Patty? UPDATE: A news source has advised me that Pasadena's new police chief Philip Sanchez, City Councilman Steve Madison & some lady from the Castle Green Neighborhood Association are honored guests at the Grand Opening. (Castle Green is that large, old former hotel taking up a city block just S of the org - it is now a condo complex).
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning Then, you'd better park in a building or a lot. I think most meters are $2.00/hour. Parking Management
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning The Special Permit granted by City of Pasadena on behalf of Scientology for the Grand Opening can now be accessed at: Permission is granted to close Raymond Avenue from Green Street to Colorado Blvd. and a portion of Mercantile Place from Raymond Avenue to Braley Court. 1. Street closure from 2pm - midnight on Sunday, July 18, 2010. Various sidewalk closures will take place on both sides of Raymond Avenue at specified times per the Special Events permit. 20100715 Pasadena COS Permit (works much better with Firefox than IE)
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning I couldn't even bring it up on IE. I can't seem to print the permit from Scibd. It wants me to link to my Facebook page.. which is not possible.. because FB is doing maintenance. Know how to print out? The permit sez the sidewalks can only be closed at specified times... if Scilons are lefy to handle it, you know this limitation will be abused.
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning That scribd thing is really retarded somtimes. Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning Thanks much, Sponge. It's always important to have a copy of these with us at protests. The Scilons love to abuse permits & the police love to misinterpret them. Hopefully, Mark Lowell be there tomorrow.
Re: pasadena org opening, july 18th planning The Parsons Parking lot is 3 blocks from the Org. Nice place to flash some protest signs at Scilons as they arrive. Old Pasadena : Maps and Parking
