You haven't read this thread. It's already been covered. First, masks are not *allowed* inside the courtroom, second, anonymous is not going in the court room period, masks or not. Only close friends go inside. Anon stays outside.

It's also a great opportunity to have another small peaceful demonstration to a whole new audience and show we're not terrorists.

But the bottom line is, we're going to follow whatever advice his lawyer gives us, because you're right about one thing, this date is about Sean's court case, and we're not going to do anything that would hurt that.

Time will tell, it's kind rare for a lawyer to give people who are not his clients advice. Like I said chances are he wont say what random people should or should not do.

I could be wrong though.

I will respect you no matter how it turns out, but if you can help it PLEASE don't plea bargain. That almost always means admitting something you didn't do to avoid getting in trouble for something that you may or may not have done. And the CoS will use that to full advantage.

It will set a precedent. A deterrent. They will smell blood in the pool and go after every fish they can with no fear of bad press.

The ideal situation is to be in the position to subpoena YouTube and ISP records to identify AnonymousFacts, who is undeniably part of the accusation process the church used. It proves the charges are harassment, not evidence of guilt.

And if there is any successful counter-suit on your behalf, we are one step closer to the possibility of a class action suit of all their fair game victims. At worst, it sets a precedent in OUR favour. I can see thousands of cases being files against them, just like they attacked the original CAN.

But first things first. I await the collection fund and will put my money where my mouth is.

That shit's tough lemme tell you. The worst I had was when I got hauled into court for trying to walk with a jar of grape jelly from a university cafeteria (WHAT ARE MY CRIMES HURRRR)

The moment they said offered me an infraction instead of a misdemeanor I was like "hot damn" I'm in the clear. Well actually I said "What are my options?" first.

His legal counsel will hopefully know what's best, but in all honesty there's a good chance the charges will get dropped. I don't think Freakout is in the CoS' best interests right now, especially since a lot of people online keep going on about how they "forgive" anonymous even if we hate them. A trial like that could only invite even more messy scrutiny if they try and make him a martyr. Notice up until this point even the PI's have mostly been just using their presence to intimidate, not necessarily plant evidence or even gather intelligence. They are probably hoping that hauling him into court and wasting his time will be enough to deter him.

As Sean's sister my concern for him is at its highest right now because I believe that if the COS are attempting to do anything, it is to find someone they can use as an example and it appears that Sean is just the example they are looking for.
Masks scare people and at this highly emotive and critical time the last thing we (collectively) want to do is to bring bad attention to his case/cause by scaring people into believing that Sean and anyone connected with him are the 'bad guys'. How about using wigs, glasses, scarves, etc?

Yes, we ARE talking about his freedom and his future and even though the truth should be on his side, we all know that the 'truth' can be stretched and manipulated into such a way that it no longer appears to be the truth, especially to people who are unfamiliar with the origins and reasons why 'Anonymous' started up in the first place.

The COS may not be the ones who have brought the charges against my brother, but you can bet they instigated them. Why play into their hands by doing exactly what they hope will happen .. hanging yourselves (the main one with the noose around his neck being Sean) while they walk away with smug smiles on their dirty faces.
They are the lynch-men .... don't let their noose fall around Sean's neck.

It's so good to know that Sean has this show of support and I know it gives him strength and some peace of mind (how couldn't it?) It certainly gives me comfort and reassurance, but please, please be careful how that support is demonstrated on the day of his arraignment because it could mean the difference between him walking away eating victory pie to being led off to eat prison fodder (literally and figuratively) as innocents often are.

He sent an email to the list he maintains about a peaceful presence of Anonymous support but since Dilbert's insightful post (thanks Dilbert) is also second guessing the wisdom of a lot of people gathering that OSA could infiltrate and exploit as they did on 3/15.

I will be talking with Graham a bit later and will go over everything later today but my feeling are now that I should go it alone (or rather with the likes of Magoo and other no-longer-Anons like ath). This is, after all, only an arraignment. I might feel different if this was an actual trial, for that (frivolous lolsuits against law abiding citizens on the tax payers' dimes) would be worthy of a bona fide protest and all the media coverage it would no doubt generate.

Whatever, the support here (and willingness to stand up IRL for me) from all has been overwhelming and emboldening frankly. Anon (/b/ in particular) has been known to 'eat' their own in the past. I was expecting a lot of "he was asking for it" kinda harbl truth be told. But I guess this battle has made a lot of us grow up.

The CO$ keeps fucking up by bringing us tighter together than driving the kind of wedges (oldfag v newfag v gaifag v G4fag) that traditionally would have us ripping each other new arseholes.

Any financial help would be much appreciated. This has been a pretty big hit in the wallet for me and my job hunt has been put on hold since a google search doesn't exactly paint a rosy picture of me atm.
