If you want to see video news coverage, Sky News has been pretty factual. There is a link to it earlier in this thread. They have a broadcast that streams live on you tube.

I can’t remember where I saw it but it was reported yesterday that the “Americans did it” was running in the Russian press. I don’t know if it’s true (I don’t speak Russian) but if you’re looking for the origin of the claim it might be worth looking there.

The online hacktivist collective announced a campaign called #OpCharlieHebdo last week in the wake of the murder of 17 people in Paris by two gunmen seeking revenge for cartoons published by the satirical magazine of the prophet Muhammed.
The first victim of the campaign was a French jihadist forum which was knocked offline over the weekend and which remains inaccessible.
The 14 Facebook profiles were listed by Anonymous-linked Twitter account @AnonyOpNews on Monday night. Previously Anonymous has listed Twitter accounts that it claims belong to known jihadists calling on members of the public to report these to Twitter.
The amorphous online activist group has not this time called for similar action in the wake of publishing the Facebook profiles, however the group has said that it will be publishing more information on Tuesday, adding: "Remember jihadists, we are watching you."

Im not, to me it seems your fighting the wrong enemy... not to say jihadi groups are great but instead of aiming at the people who use this as a way to violate internet freedom like 0pst3lten in the netherlands and his p-3do gang whos in a alarming rate pushing legislation to kill any sort of information he deems "unwanted" you take down sites... that are all about free speech... sure it is hate but what does that matter... wernt we "hatin" on scientology wasnt "chrlie" hatin on the obvious whining claim not to display something.

I dno, got mixed feelings about this... also I consider it to be a big fraud... aside from the nature of the attack the result was that two groups namingly "nationalistic sentiment" and "muslims" were put harder against each other... this has been going on longer off course but the reasoning is diluting to the absurd fast....

AUSTRALIAN cartoonist visited by counter-terrorism police after publishing his own satirical treatment of the Charlie Hebdo massacre

Cartoonist Larry Pickering of the website Pickering Post featured a drawing on his website that combines Mohammed imagery with a pig on a spit.


Brisbane Times (h/t Gerald P) Mr Pickering told Fairfax Radio 4BC (audio below) police visited his Gold Coast home on Sunday night for two hours to discuss surveillance options. “They didn’t suggest I stop doing what I’m doing, they just asked if I’d give them notice if I thought something was particularly provocative,” he said.

Mr Pickering said he was concerned for the safety of his family, but said he wouldn’t change the way he worked. “I will write and draw what I think is within my idea of what my readers will accept or think is OK,” he said. “I don’t write for me, I write for the people that read me.”

Mr Pickering is notorious for his use of often sexually explicit content in his cartoons which feature politicians and other public figures. Mr Pickering said the demonstration in Paris following last week’s attack on French satirical paper Charlie Hebdo bolstered his resolve.

“Why should we stop doing it… this is what the press should be about,” he said. “I think [my cartoon] was saying what we need to say.”
