Easter Sunday Mass Celebration Catholic Protesters are Invited to Share in Religious Services at St. Patrick's Cathedral. In order to celebrate, you must be Roman Catholic, and are not currently wearing Occupy items such as Guy Fawkes Masks. The mass schedule is as follows: Saturday Vigil – 8:00 pm Sunday – 7:00, 8:00, 8:45, 10:15 am *Tickets Required, 12 Noon, 1:00, 4:00 (Spanish) and 5:30 pm
What's with the bigotry? We take our religion pretty damned seriously in Northern Ireland and yet I've never been told by people of another denomination that I wouldn't be welcome at their service. Typical Occupy bullshit.
"Celebrating" in Catholicism has been explained to me as taking Eucharist (a sacrament to be practiced). They allow anyone (non-disruptive) in to mass, they just don't approve of those who have not gone through the sacrament taking the bread or wine.
Well, duh. Non RCs, and anyone else unable to receive the sacrament, are always invited to join the line for a blessing instead. Point is I doubt the Church is saying no to non-Catholics attending so why the fuck should the Occupy leaderfags take it upon themselves to do so?
Today Occupy Catholics, after participating in the Pax Christi Way of the Cross across Midtown, joined with Catholics United to lead a vigil, mic check, and petition presentation at St. Patrick's Cathedral, speaking out against Rep. Paul Ryan's unjust budget. More info: OccupyCatholics.org, facebook.com/occupycatholics, twitter.com/occupycatholic
