Yes. Those brave freedom loving peace officers are now breaking the Geneva Conventions. Looks more like Syria, not Oakland.

    Time to fight back.

    And then they win.

    What like in Egypt? Tunisia?

"You see all these people," said a protester at #OccupyOakland. "They're all leaving more radicalized than they came."

See this is what happens - pigs are usually too stupid to figure out that they actually create more people who will be prepared to Occupy next time.
  6. xenubarb Member

Oh please. In Syria, they'd be up on the roofs, firing live ammo, not gas.
  7. Anonymous Member

Hey, when they're throwing flash grenades at rescue attempts - it looks like Syria.

Veteran Shot During Occupy Oakland Protest

Overnight police raids in Oakland, Ca and in Atlanta, Ga on 'Occupy' protests in those cities are putting the spotlight on rising tensions between protestors and police. In Oakland, police used teargas to clear out the camp there and in Atlanta 50 people were arrested. Further, warnings were issued against San Jose protestors in California. In the YouTube video from Oakland, teargas is clearly visible as protesters cheer. Police claim paint was hurled at them.

Oakland Policeman Throws Flash Grenade Into Crowd Trying To Help Injured Protester

The original footage is here: http://www.ktvu.com/video/29587714/index.html

Footage from the Occupy Oakland protest, October 25th, 2011. After protesters ran to the aid of a badly-injured person, Oakland Police deliberately lobbed a flash grenade into the crowd. Whatever you think of the Occupy movement, police behavior of this kind is criminal and should be prosecuted.

A brief statement on #OaklandPolice violence against #OWS protesters and the necessary response. pastebin.com/Qd6arXbg #Anonymous
    4 minutes ago

#OccupyOakland has come under attack from city police, who now appear to be calling in reinforcements from Palo Alto. A protester who did two tours in Iraq is in critical condition with fractured skull and brain injury after a cop shot him in the head with a "non-lethal" weapon. A crowd of protesters were deliberately hit with a flashbang while rendering first aid to an injured protester. Police claimed in a recent press release that "no injuries" have been reported so far.

These are among the most disturbing and criminal acts to be have been proven on the part of U.S. police since NYPD officers were outed as having routinely planted drugs on suspects earlier this month. The time has come to retaliate against Oakland police via all non-violent means, beginning with doxing of individual officers and particularly higher-ups involved in the department's conduct of late.

Intense crackdown on 'Occupy Oakland' protest - Americas - Al Jazeera English

One activist told Al Jazeera that her boyfriend was beaten by police and hospitalised before being jailed and beaten again. Asking only to go by ‘Anne’, she asked that her partner not be named for safety reasons.

When he was first arrested around 6pm on Tuesday, she said: “The police thought that he was Latino and started calling him Poncho and making racial slurs and sexual gestures. He said the fire department people and paramedics were doing this along with the cops."

Once hospitalised, the man filed a police brutality report, after which the officer recording the complaint told him he would “go to jail for assault or battery of a police officer and resisting arrest,” Anne said. He was then moved from the hospital to the local county jail.

"I talked to him twice now since he’s been in Santa Rita [County Jail] and he said they were basically torturing him there. They beat him in front of a bunch of people including a nurse, and then they took him to another room and they put his head in a toilet, put his hands in a toilet, threw him against a wall." The allegations could not be independently verified.

Besides his being in a crowd of protesters, Anne said that her partner’s arrest was completely unprovoked.

Round two of Police violence in Oakland

Police in Oakland have yet again turned violent against the peaceful protesters of Occupy Oakland. Video has surfaced of a police officer throwing a flash grenade at a group of protester who rushed to assist an injured protester. The flash grenade left a Iraq veteran Scott Olsen hospitalized. A new poll shows that 43 percent of Americans support the movement and many more are expected to support the movement after the incident in Oakland. Joshua Holland, a senior writer and editor at Alternet, gives us his thoughts on the police behavior.
