Something tells me this will be the first part in a series by the Times...

Too much groundwork and risks. Would almost seem odd as a one part story.

Mary Bono Mack, is Sonny Bono's widow?
Sonny Bono was a scientologist, wasn't he? I don't think she is any more.

This reminds me of the Soviet Union. There, you had this oppressive regime that claimed prosperity to the outside world, while in reality it was constantly on the brink of failure and just generally a terrible place to live. All that kept it from collapsing was the fact that its citizens were kept completely in the dark about how awful everything was. When censorship was relaxed, suddenly everyone knew the truth and the Union fell apart.

We're seeing the same process here. An organisation that relies on people not knowing what really goes on, using censorship, harassment and outright lies to cover its own ass. And as the truths about it become more widely known, so more members leave, so more objections are raised and so - unless something pretty damn spectacular happens - we see the process of collapse.

    Also, cocks.

Good catch, anti! It was indeed written by Anonymous, later namefagged as political writer Joe Klein.

Tommy Davis' attempt to misinform the NYT backfired on him. LOL
I spent 24 years in Scientology, went up to the TOP of the Levels (New OT8) and I know the truth about how it works.

FTW: This picture is for future reporters meeting with Scientology spokeshole Tommy Davis.

New Abuse Allegations Cap Bad Year for Scientology - AOL News

Luv this: "Haggis is not alone. According to the American Religious Identification Survey, 45,000 Americans identified themselves as Scientologists in 1990, and 55,000 did in 2001. But in 2008, that number plummeted to 25,000. It's well short of the millions of followers Scientology leaders claim, both in the United States and abroad, where the church often is not officially recognized alongside other religions. (In comparison, in 2008 there were 342,000 self-identified Wiccans.)

If that trend continues, Scientology isn't likely to survive many of our lifetimes -- let alone the billions of years the church promises its "immortal" adherents."

    and the hit parade continues...

Well, you know, there's really no point in worrying about scientology being reformed. If they had to pay the SO minimum wage, and owed them back wages,
    4000 US SO members * $7/hr * 100 hour week * 52 weeks * 40 years = $5.82B

    And that's just one example.

Yes, but it was a terribly polite Canadian riot. They handed out beers to those they oppose and said "aboot" and "eh" a lot. And their trash talk was much like their talk to the US hockey team. "You're a Scientologist, eh? Go Xenophon!"

Tommy boy should do some new word clearing soon:
    1) Perjury (def. context: when you are on a witness stand)
    2) Accessory (def. context: accessory to a crime)
    3) "I was only following orders" (def. context: as a defense in a trial,
also, background info: who said it during what trial)

Then let's see if that tint changes from blue to red.

A fun surprise when registering, you fill out a quick survey (household income, title, industry).

    Industry?

Selecting "Pharmaceuticals/Biotech" made me smile a bit.

It only takes 20 seconds, literally. Go register and email the story out, fags.

When this is all over and they take Tommy in for questioning, for the lulz, we should show up, on masse, protesting for the release of our great leader.

Once we explain that nobody could accidently produce so many footbullets, it will be clear that he was working for us and is indeed our leader, and has been handsomely paid by Pfizer.

He has provided us with so much entertainment, its almost like we owe him.

    Huffington Post:

Clay Farris Naff: Alleged Abuses in Scientology Are Far From Unique

"Scientology. The name is a travesty of science. The reality is a burlesque of religion.

Following the lead of the Saint Petersburg Times, where my late friend Steve Marquez once reported on the same church, the New York Times recently published tales of abuse told by Scientology "defectors." The term seems apt, since the harsh treatment former insiders describe brings to mind totalitarian states like North Korea."
  32. Re: New York Times - Sunday Sunday Sunday

It's great that this couple has left and started speaking out about the current abuses of Scientology management.

It's a huge first step but the years of Hubbard's mentally abusive processing have clearly taken their toll on these deluded former members.

Almost all of the abuses (mental and physical), the fraud, disconnection, child abuse, staff labor abuses, embezzlement, running their own brutal hard labor prison camps (RPF), the required medically dangerous drug purification rundown, psychotic break introspection rundown (Lisa Macpherson died during this "program"), fair-game policy and many more crimes have been a big part of Scientology for decades per L. Ron Hubbard's own vicious controlling policies.

    L. Ron Hubbard (a man who lied about all of his major "accomplishments") was a complete and utter convicted fraud who also set up the Children's Rehabilitative Project Force which is child abuse in and of itself.

Unfortunately some who leave are still operating under the mind control influences of this despicable human being and it will take time to undo all the harm that has been done to them mentally. The Colbran's are a sad example of this, imho. I wish them well.

Scientology and Dianetics: The Modern SCIENCE of mental health was changed to a religion by conman LRH after being totally debunked scientifically with Hubbard facing potential medical malpractice suits due to false claims of medical healing using his e-meter and to obtain "religious" tax exempt status.

Many Sea Organisation members are recruited for lifetime service (actually signing a billion year contract) at slave wages at 13, 14, 15 years old, this is a disgrace.

Scientology and dianetics have never, ever delivered any of the promised benefits of Hubbard's stae of clear and beyond, in a word Scientology is Fraud.
