    Kawehi performs Neda

Performed by Hawaiian singer-songwriter Kawehi and produced by Paul Wight, NEDA is one of the pieces of Kawehi's Kickstarter-funded album VOX. Neda is inspired by Neda Agha-Soltan who died by a fatal shot to the chest during the 2009 election protests in Iran. Her death was captured on video by bystanders, put on the internet, and went viral around the world. Neda became the face of Iran's democracy movement - and the voice of women in Iran.

The video was funded by anonymous Kickstarter song pledgers on Kawehi's page. The song is also available to buy as ‘pay what you can afford’ on her site (link). Kawehi indicates that all proceeds will also be matched by an anonymous donor and 100% of VOX’s proceeds go to United for Iran.
