    Looks like it might be a thyroid cancer (based on position), which would mean, given that they tend to be very slow growing, a very long and painful process.

    I'd like to comment on Smurf's post. Based on location, most likely it's thyroid cancer, which tends to be VERY slow growing.

    Could also just be a goiter. They're also slow growing, too.

    Probably been coming on for 10-20 years either way.

    Thyroid cancer is one of the most treatable cancers. Of course it requires one to seek medical treatment for it. I hope Dan wakes up and seeks real treatment, if it is in fact cancer.
