People are giving you shit because there are tons of raids and protests in California all the time, including in the LA area. The remarks about a Megaraid is because there just was one a few weeks ago in LA, complete with a big press conference. People are further giving you shit because you haven't lurked enough to see all that. The last thing is that people will be cautious when a brand new person pops up and starts wanting to set up meetings. If you're brand new, it's probably best to lurk a lot, post some, and go to a protest - or even start one yourself - without asking people to risk revealing their information to a total stranger.
Re: Los Angeles we tend to stick with hollywood, either PAC Base on sunset and LRH way or longsign or HGB on hollywood. easy to get to those spots by subway, and is most effective right now we want to figure out the date (thats tends to be on the second saturday of the month, but we can vote a different saturday), and where we will be at this time
