This is exactly what's wrong with the "system" - this right here. Money in politics like this is what makes our Congress ineffective and incapable of producing results that improve the country.

Eradicating lobbying groups is required if we are to stamp out corruption in the political system.

    And we will.

    This was amusing:
I wonder which poor schmucks they'll nominate as OWS leaders?

The proposal reminds me of HBGary's stuff.

There are no leaders, so good luck with that. Oh wait...paging Barrett Brown, a leaderfag is needed!

It won't be long before their private emails and voicemails are made public.

They like to poke their penises into hornet's nest. Their screams upon being stung will make wonderful music that will help OWS keep warm by their dancing merrily to it.

Oh... This will not end well for Clark Lytle Geduldig & Cranford or the American Bankers Association. Apparently they fell asleep during the history lessons regarding HB Gary.

How Wall Street really views the protesters - The Washington Post

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes just aired an exclusive that provides an interesting look at how some of those being targeted by Occupy Wall Street may really view the protests. He reported that a memo from a prominent corporate lobbying firm to the American Bankers Association proposed an extensive public relations campaign — including opposition research into key movement figures and an elaborate media strategy — designed to discredit the movement, and Dems who embrace it.

The memo was authored by lobbyists at the firm Clark Lytle Geduldig Cranford — and there are two key takeaways. The first is that some allies of Wall Street firms see Occupy Wall Street as a potential long term political threat. The second is that they see the Democratic strategy of embracing the populist message of the protests as something that could work, rather than something that is an automatic negative for Dems, as conservatives keep proclaiming is the case.

They can try to discredit the protesters, but our own government and elected representatives will stupidly continue to fuel the outrage that has citizens turning out to be heard. So, yanno, have at it. Sooner or later, the 99% will realize that it's our way or fucking serfdom. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground.

essentially whats happening is the attempted overthrow of the established two party system, absolutely key to change the way our government is functioning. At the very least it will change the 2 parties. I hope it will bring them down. We'll see how fast they are at co-opting. The Bankers Assc moves are not going to help the two major parties. It is targeting the Dems, but I don't see it strengthening the Reps. It moves their ability to co-opt out further, the Dems are making better headway with using #occupy for their own purposes.
Review labor history in the US for co-option strategies of the 1%.

I watched Chris Hayes yesterday morning and found the segment very interesting and a liottle scary. What got me was the fact that this memo is likely the tip of the iceberg. The memo in question was rejected but the point that this is just on of many such plots being hatched..

I believe credit unions also offer credit cards, although they are still affiliated with Visa and Mastercard.
