Re: Letters from Gold Base Staff on Ordinance 884 I am going through the letters and typing each sentence into a row in a spreadsheet, which will then be further broken down into key words, phrases, etc. for analysis. I am manually typing them into the spreadsheet, rather than OCRing to txt, for a couple of reasons: Several of the letters are hand written on some type of paper that did not produce a very clear copy. The Mk-I eyeball does a better job of figuring out what was written in those cases than any OCR device/software. I get a sense of what the content author (which is not necessarily the same person as the letter writer) is trying to accomplish with a particular sentence. When the spreadsheet software starts completing sentences for me in letter after letter, it's a clue that the writers were working from a script. There are also a few other reasons, but I don't want to give away everything yet. I will say that what I've done so far APPEARS (key word there) to point to two basic scripts being used. With a long form and short form of each, giving four basic variations of their bawwwing. BigBeard

Re: Letters from Gold Base Staff on Ordinance 884 Just a cursory scan through the document reveals a number of peculiar phrases that turn up time and time again, that certainly demonstrate the high probability that the letters were not individually written on the initiative of the person supposedly signing it. A full analysis like this will produce should be a very interesting document to produce to Jeff Stone and see him explain this away, given that it was a major influence in the passing of the decision. Once the supporting evidence for the decision crumbles away, the decision itself comes under question.

The brilliant idea was to "flood the internet" with the personal websites of individual Scientologists. By doing this, or so CoS thought, the internet search engines would always direct any query related to Scientology to one of these websites. The Cult sent out a CD-ROM to its members to automate the process. The Cult's goal was 110,000 websites; there were never more than 1,500 websites. All of these 1998 websites are still online. CoS linked to these sites from its webpages under "Meet Scientologists Online." People can e-mail Scientologists from their websites. I know that Scientologists put these websites up because they want to be in communication with non-Scientologists. /////
