    June 20 - Edmonton Alberta - Protest

So what's on the books for December?

No idea, except that we must wear santa hats.
And a theme would be nice this time.

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

I wouldn't mind meeting up with you guys. It's been a while since I went to Edmonton or Calgary. I guess it all depends on wether or not I am bombarded with a crap load of school work again which, unfortunately, prohibited me from attending the last one. If I don't see you guys in Alberta, make sure you watch each others backs and have a shit load of lulz for a great cause!

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Ooh okay, well if you get the chance to come, you should, there were only 6 of us this month, but many lulz were had nonetheless.

    OH AND GUESS WHAT GUISE.

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Sounds good, I don't think I'll be able to get any flags or anything but I can whip up a sign and come on by. Chances are the homework load isn't going to be that hard. Can't wait to attend!
  6. Re: Edmonton, Alberta

*peeks out from the super secret hiding place that is in plain sight but well hidden*

What day is the protest this month? I seem to have lost track of everything.
(Oh, the things that would show up on the records of my auditing sessions if I were a scilon.)

  8. Re: Edmonton, Alberta

    I live, indeed.

I'm good with either day. Dnno if I will be there though. This is a hard time of year for me.

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

    It's a debate here...

The 20th seems like the logical choice, with everyone (at least those of us still in school) on Christmas break, but this is Alberta, and the 7 days between the 13th and 20th can have a huge impact on weather...It could be -5 on the 13th, and -15 by the 20th...

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Nooo, the global event is already scheduled on the 13th and has been for at least a couple of weeks. Poll closed to the 13 of December being the date and I've already set aside time to drive and attend on the designated date. I do, however, have a question: Where is the closest parking arcade in Edmonton to said location of protest?

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Wow ... I just thought I'd check up on how you Anons are doing. Man it has been a while since you last heard from me. I'm impressed and thrilled that you're still alive and kicking. I wish I could be there with you folks again. Maybe sometime in the coming months.

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

I'm totally coming to this one. And C is in edmonton now, so she'll totally come too.
    New city afterwards?

Epic December protest, spread the word ladies.

Theme Y/N... I wouldn't mind dressing up as barney and being all like "SCIENTOLOGY EATS CHILDREN"
might end in a bit of a yikes situation though

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

    coming from calgs?
  14. AngryRaptor Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Saskatchewan, so I really hope it's gonna be epic win for the length of the drive, I don't have any doubts about it since observing all of the results through YouTube, WhyWeProtest and various chat rooms and Anonymous, world wide delivers!

    Looking forward to the 13!

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Ok, i think it is officially time to decide a theme for this protest. Suggestions???

(Going naked except for wrap around sign "scientology stole my clothes!!!")
Something lulzy though, no srs bzns this time.
  16. AngryRaptor Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Well, it is coming close to Christmas so one would think a Christmas theme would be appropriate. One thing I didn't ask is, are their any laws and/or regulations to Edmonton protests that I should be aware of? I don't want to make a sign and find out that I can't use it for some lame reason >_>
  17. EpicYeastTrap Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

In cases where someones done something stupid that pissed off the scientologists or police, the police were called and we were told not to do it again. That was it.

    Now we know:
    not to jaywalk
not to hold signs against the org windows
    not to enter the org
you are allowed to use chalk on sidewalks, but you have to be a sensible about what you write, so like lron quotes about xenu are fine, but not "SCIENTOLOGY IS FOR RETARDS" .

One guy dressed up as pedobear and only other anons complained about that. So i mean just do what you want, maybe have a second sign for back up if you're really pushing the limits.

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

I was expecting a lot harsher climates, something like what happened with that poor guy in the UK about the word "Cult". I've got nothing against the people in it who are only looking for answers and this is where their searching has lead them, I am, however, against the whole "Fair Game" thing and their way of practicing medicine without being charged of practicing medicine without a license.

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Aww! EYT gets to go and I don't?! Not fair at all. Damn I wish I weren't in the middle of nowhere and had the time to make the trip.
  20. AngryRaptor Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

How far is "middle of nowhere"? Take a bus, I don't think it's all that expensive now since gas is cheaper. Hopefully I get to see as many Edmonton Anons as I can on the 13th
  21. BatteryAcid Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Also, no standing on the island(s) across the street.
And no standing on the trashcan outside the org.
Generally, if the police are called, they show up, ask us how we're doing, how long we're planning on staying, then laughs and walks into the org and tells them to stfu or something (that's what happened in September). I don't think we've ever got anything from the po-po besides a, "Please stop doing that."
If somebody dressed up as pedobear, that would make my life. :D

Ooh, I'll have to check my garage for chalk. I think we have some. This could be fun.
As far as a theme. Hmm. If we could put some Chanology/anon pun into a Christmas carol name or something, that'd probably work.

    Comeon enz,you can do etttt!
You know it's worth it too.

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Oh it's going to be worth the drive! Unfortunately, I do not have one of those kick-ass masks :< when we meet up, hopefully I can get some advice in the best places on getting them, I haven't really been wanting to buy online because there have been a lot of rumors saying that Co$ are buying shipments of the masks in order to get personal information from people. Now, I don't know if this is true or not, but I really don't want these pricks finding where I live and raising hell and making asses out of themselves.

Who's got the material for in case something should happen like a: cellphone, video camcorder, still shot camera, *caek* <---- most important =D and MUSIC! (preferably something with iPod compatibility, I'd have no problem creating a play list special for this event a little Daft Punk, Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture, Benny Bennassi and what not for some fun.) What about fliers to inform the public? If we're going to do this, lets do it right while tryin' to beat the Americans for win and lulz!

    Canadian Anonymous,
    Expect us too, Eh?
  25. BatteryAcid Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

I know some of us (including myself) are under 18, so no after party for us Dx
As far as getting a mask goes, I have no idea where you could find one besides the internet...I know some stores get them in once in a while, but they go fast. The best place to get them is probably Custom Costumes, but considering Halloween was almost a month ago, I imagine they're gone by now. There's a particular site to order them from that some anons have encouraged use of (the site promotes going anonymous), but I guess you never know with anyone you order it from.
  26. EpicYeastTrap Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Hmm, yea I ordered mine online, and i never had an issue. If you're worried about the address, set one of these up
Mailbox rental, business services & Canadian public storage | Sentinel Self-Storage
and then buy? V masks are pretty hard to get a hold of in costume shops unfortunately
heres an amazon link, the shops been up since before the protests.
    :[ame=http://www.amazon.com/BuyCostumes-V-For-Vendetta-Mask/dp/B000UVGLHU/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1227671917&sr=8-3]Amazon.com: V For Vendetta Mask: Apparel[/ame]

as long as you get an idea of the sellers history (ie any accounts conveniently started after February should be avoided) it should be safe.
    .
I can get some flyers, i know where to find some convenient 5 cent copying

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Great, time to get things rolling. I am sure I know a lot more about Scientology and Anonymous, though I tend to question myself, so with that said, I am thinking of creating a sign that is neutral. Anybody else planning on bringing any of the said items I proposed in earlier post ^ up there? If we split it up then when closing we could make a clean get away with a slightly less chance of being instigated. I'm inquiring about an HD camcorder, luckily it's required for my courses so I can get it at a bargain price (sweet) which should come in handy just in case something happens and helps keep things in check.

Days are closing in faster so, communication is important don't be afraid to brainstorm some new and creative ideas! :D

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

I know that they were definitely available at Spencer's Gifts in West Ed recently. Although, they may be gone by now....
  29. EpicYeastTrap Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

They are pretty low key, and don't worry about neutrality.
I had a big "cult" sign and was pointing at the church, it was really effective for honks etc because it was the first thing they saw, so they knew exactly what we were protesting.
Then they had a reference for the material on all the anons signs.

never got in trouble, even a little bit.

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Me and my friend are thinking of coming down for this protest (it'll be our first one) where and when do you guys meet?

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Wouldn't chalk be of no use in the middle of December in Edmonton?
Considering there is most likely going to be snow covering the ground?
  32. EpicYeastTrap Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Well yes there is that small problem, now that you mention it. (Calgary has almost no snow, keep forgetting that Edmonton has different weather)
    Anyways, we'll see what happens.

The time is set, 12 at the cos as usual.
Not so sure about the date.
  33. melm Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

I thought the protests were all on the 13th? And won't it be getting pretty cold if it's any later than the 13th
  34. AngryRaptor Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Yes, the date for the global protest is locked in on the 13th of December.
  35. Enzyme Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

Middle of nowhere is a half hour drive from any place with a bus depot and over an hour to get to any major city (ie. Calgary). Odds are I won't have any time this year to make a trip up, but I'll be occasionally checking up on how things are going for you people.
  36. AlbertaAnon Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

We usually meet at 12:30 at Churchill Square. This avoids the Scilons taking down our license plate numbers, and seeing our faces before the masks go on.

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

    Thanks for the info

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

hai guise, assuming it's going to snow by/on the 13th (and even if it doesn't, we would be so lucky), for the theme should we go with Snow White Christmas? (That's what I hear New York is doing)
  39. evilbut Member

    Re: Edmonton, Alberta

    oh oh oh

    guise

it's christmas season, right? and with the season, comes caroling, right?

    sooo...

how about singing a few carols for the scifags, and then suddenly, never gonna give you up out of nowhere!

    a rickcaroll, if you will.
