I just wanted to point out that this was a win, as they had wanted the entire street and sidewalks on both sides for them alone, like on July 3rd. They got 1/2 of the street and one sidewalk.

But we were still prevented from walking on the west sidewalk under threat of possible arrest, and a 100% chance of a detainment.

anywho there was some girl that was acting as a guard on fountain and when i started playing OT3 they started taking her back in... i would love for a scientologist to tell me why that was needed to be done

OMIGOD!!! Epic I-Brow Guy strikes again!! That guy freaks people out -- we spent time in the SF Psych Raid thread debating whether he looked more like the Child Catcher from some old movie (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang -- apparently not a porn flick) or a child molester.

I think there's a tribute video to this guy's periorbital hair out there somewhere, though I can't find it.

    Speaking of eyebrows....

These 2 gentlemen of the culty persuasion were at the event, usually near the police.
I know I have a better pic of the guy on the left, but this will have to do for now.

Hard to tell from this pic, but his eyebrows are very distinct.
I can't tell which they remind me of more...a transvestite performer or a Star Trek character.

Oh, nice. Thank you, "Officer" #12299. Thank you for being an unprofessional, borderline racist jerk, and letting us videotape you doing it. That should be helpful in our efforts with the city.

-10 points for being a racist jerk, and an embarassment to your uniform.
-10 points for acting unprofessionally towards the cameraman documenting you being a racist jerk.
+5 points for apologizing after you realized you only had 1 flashlight, and we had 3 cameras.

    wow, great great great!!

question... what are the legalities involved (if any)with that that VM "emergency" type looking truck that was parked in the back of the building? I mean it has lights on the top of the hood and all. Don't you have to have some sort of permit or whatever for stationary lights on a vehicle?
Volunteer fireman have lights on their trucks, but they are not as big as the ones on the VM truck. Why and when would they be allowed to turn those lights on in traffic?

Several of us were leaving when someone noticed they could see the video being broadcast inside the event though one of the tents.

This video was what we could shoot before an extremely agitated security guard showed up to shoo us away.

Re: July 11, Big Blue, Los Angeles

You missed some of the action due to your departure time and location. Our rights were ABSOLUTELY infringed, so please don't make it sound like they weren't. Yes, it was good that the law was being enforced partially and that we were able to walk down one side of the street, but that does not excuse the fact that officers told a group of us that they would arrest us if we stepped foot on the west side of lrh. Not maybe, definitely arrest us. After explaining the permit to them and that they were enforcing an illegal action, they did not back down.

We did not get "everything we wanted" because the law is still being abused. What we want is for the LAPD to come out and quit acting illegally.

I understand that you don't like Roan, but try to keep the issue clear. It is certainly ok for him to question whether the LAPD is there as an *ON DUTY OFFICER* or if they are being a rent-a-cop (literally). That is a perfectly acceptable question to ask, because it determines whether or not we have to listen to what they have to say. They don't want to answer it because it will affect if we listen to them.

Laws related to motor vehicles in California can be found at 2009 Vehicle Code General Provisions and Divisions 1 - 18 Table of Contents

Division 12 is where everything related to lighting can be found.

Emergency light/flasher info can be found at California Vehicle Code Division 12, Chapter 2, Article 7 Table of Contents

Note there is nothing related to "Volunteer Ministers", or any other type of real ministers, vehicles being allowed to have special lighting not authorized for any other private vehicle.

That's another good example of why residents are unhappy. It's not just about access for them, it is about the insane fucking booming racket of cheesy cult pomp and miscavige's whiny rolling thunder disturbing their peaceful weekends.

Re: July 11, Big Blue, Los Angeles

I've never personally had an issue with him, but I know he isn't well liked at all. I'm not saying that he couldn't ask it. However, it was at a time where the officer wasn't in the best of moods, especially with him in particular. I was expressing that he had a really bad timing with the question and that his actions would have given us a harder time with the cops. That's all. Just wasn't very appropriate timing for that question for that situation.

If you read the rest of my post you quoted, you'll see that I also wrote that I was making comments about what I saw. I'm not taking assumptions for before and after I left.

Re: July 11, Big Blue, Los Angeles

Mark Howell had a copy of the permit with him.. he discussed it with Sgt. Provost... the belief is that Moxon & cronies went to the top of LA's bureaucracy and persuaded them to amend the agreed-upon permit at the last minute.

It was clearly apparent that Moxon, Caetano & other Scilon heads were extremely pissed off that they were not able to close the east side of LRH Way to protesters which some of us took full advantage of. On Fountain Avenue, a couple of handlers tried to block the sidewalk to keep us from walking towards Sunset, and a LAPD officer ordered them to back away.

Despite Moxon & cronies once again manipulating the legal process, what happened yesterday was a HUGE step for protesters and Mark Howell is the quiet, diligent hero responsible for this.

Jason True, the D/Chf Security PAC was constantly mocking Mark using his real full name. Mark just ignored him. I had a polite chat with Sgt. Provost (who was in charge of the police operation there) about several things and thanked him for keeping everything peaceful & orderly.

He even admitted that Moxon & other Scilons were repeatedly complaining & nagging about the smallest things, and I quote, "a bunch of whiny children." I told him to get used to it because it's all a coordinated tactic to get what they want. I also wrote down some things about Moxon he should look up on the Internet and he would be surprised who he was dealing with.

Provost & I also discussed my IE complaint against Officer Turner and he said Turner had signed up to work the event but was denied due to the IE complaint. Provost said 2 non-Scilon residents of LRH Way who Turner harassed had also filed complaints against him. Officer Bowman wasn't there either.

Overall, I was quite pleased with what freedom we had yesterday to walk around LRH Way.

"Blue Shirt Guy" from Tustin Org. He was the one who flyered AO's trailer park in Lake Elsinore at 5:00AM and was escorted out by police. He was also seen protesting at the psych convention in SF. The dumbass works very hard for his stats.

LAPD Officer Griffith, who I thought was very professional and accepting of protesters there. I also observed several anons making sure the sidewalks were clear so Scilons could walk unimpeded to the event.

Re: July 11, Big Blue, Los Angeles

Sorry to be a downer here, but the LA media just don't give a damn covering anything Scientology related unless it is a major event (like the shooting death of the sword-swinging ex-Scilon) or publishing a summary of the St. Pete Times article they found on the AP wire.

Los Angeles is chock full of diverse, crazy, over-the-top people (myself included), and there is a major apathy <yawn times 100> when it comes to what they see as a kooky paranoid cult.

Good Luck trying to get the media interested. My guess is your endeavor will be a short-lived one.

"So PR becomes the technique of Communicating an acceptable truth -- and which will attain the desirable result." - HCO Policy Letter of 13 August 1970, L. Ron Hubbard

"Handling truth is a touchy business ... Tell an acceptable truth."
The Missing Ingredient, - L. Ron Hubbard, 13 August 1970

Glib engaged in a spirited argument with Jason True, the young Scilon guard (who is Deputy Chief of Security at PAC & a 2nd generation Scilon). His response to Glib's questioning always went back to "acceptable truths." In other words, Jason was all over the map, he knew it, and he did his very best to talk shit and try to manipulate Glib to agree with him. Didn't work.

Jason, at one point, told Glib to read the PTS/SP coursebook for answers to her questions. I told them I had my coursebook in my car & would bring it to them, so Jason could show Glib, in the book, what he was referring to. I fetched the book, brought it back & gave it to Jason to show Glib what he was referring to in the book. Jason looked visibly uncomfortable & tried to pawn it off on me to explain it to Glib and I told him it was there comm cycle & was just there to listen.

He blabbed a few things about what was in my coursebook & told her to look at an entirely different book and walked away like he had something important to do.

In other words, Glib pwned the guy and he didn't like it one bit. It was the first time I saw Glib really engage a Scilon and not let up for one minute.
