He starts off by saying he has no problem with home-schooling, but home-schooling is exactly the problem that enables shit like this on multiple levels. The UN has rules demanding that all societies allow parents to school their children as they see fit, but the paedophilia and all kind of dogmatic religious shit follows in it's wake wherever it goes.

Balancing the rights sat down in international law and needs for quality control and social cohesion in a society is a tough act.

When Jim Bob Duggar sat down with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly to discuss his son Josh’s molestation scandal, he suggested that the records of the investigation — obtained by In Touch Weekly through a Freedom of Information Act request — were released because the Springdale, Ark., police chief, Kathy O’Kelley, may have taken a bribe.

Kelly didn’t challenge that outrageous suggestion but now, Doug Sprouse, the mayor of Springdale, is firing back. In a June 8 statement posted on the city’s website, Sprouse forcefully shot down the Duggars’ claim as “outrageous and categorically false,” without mentioning the family by name.

With respect to the release of records pursuant to requirements of the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the facts are these:

The City complied with each and every requirement of the FOIA with respect to the request for records.

Upon notification of the request for information pursuant to the FOIA request, the Chief of Police referred the matter to the Springdale City Attorney for an opinion as to whether the requested records were subject to public disclosure under the FOIA. As part of due diligence and in order to thoroughly analyze the request, the City also contacted the Arkansas Municipal League, the Arkansas State Police, the Washington County Juvenile Prosecuting Attorney within the Washington County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and made unsuccessful attempts to contact appropriate officials within the Arkansas Department of Human Services.

Out of courtesy with respect to the release of information in potentially sensitive situations, the Police Chief directed the family be notified of the FOIA request. The Police Chief further directed that the family be kept regularly informed as to the status of the request; the City’s analysis of the request and any action the City would take with respect to the request, including notification to the family that the City had an obligation under the FOIA law to release the redacted report.

Subsequently and consistent with and pursuant to advice of legal counsel, the City Attorney determined that the record – after thorough redaction -- was subject to release under the FOIA.

Prior to release, the record went through several rounds of review that included redaction of the names of minors and all potentially identifying pronouns.

The Springdale Police Department files in this case are not part of juvenile proceedings, had not been sealed or expunged, and at the time the report was filed the person listed in the report was an adult, not a juvenile.

In 2014, the Chief indicated to the Mayor her intent to retire in 2015. In a letter to the Mayor on May 6, 2015, she formally notified the Mayor that she would be retiring as Chief of Police on June 30, 2015. With respect to the Police Chief’s reference to “unfinished business” cited in her retirement letter, those issues relate to issues of Departmental structure, organization and leadership succession planning and were not in reference to any case specific, including this one. Any suggestion or assertion otherwise is patently false.”

Josh's parents, the person who helped him to see the errors of his ways, *cough* and anyone else who covered up these heinous crimes all need to be brought to justice. All victims need to come forward and spill.
Now they are saying a babysitter was also a victim of Josh's?
The state needs to lift the statute of limitations.

For Josh to molest so many young victims over a period of time at such a young age himself and for some of the victims to be his own sisters, totally screams that he was also once a victim at one point in his younger life. IMO
Also his insane upbringing contributed to him molesting people. IMO

When will HIS story come out? Does it involve that "family friend" who was supposedly also a molester? Only time will tell.
We may never hear what he endured himself as a child.
He needs to come clean and get help. If he does neither, he will remain a scum bag in the eyes of the world.

I am torn about this story.
Until I hear the whole truth of everything that happened to him as a young boy and if he in fact was a victim himself, then it's tough to blame a victim. Isn't it? *ducks while people throw punches*
His own parents who were his guardians at the time had the final say and covered it up and told him he was totally forgiven. The guy who "rehabilitated " him also said he was forgiven obviously.

I know he is guilty of covering it up for many years, but is it his OWN fault for doing so?
Think about it, if someone did something really wrong out of being abused as a child themselves and they were convinced by their parents and others that they have repented and they were totally forgiven at a very young age, and was told to never speak of it, would most victims come forward on their own and talk about what they did? Unfortunately not.
Especially if you were convinced that all was forgiven and to sweep it under the rug.
I blame the parents and all others who were involved. They need to be brought to justice.
The old saying of "the truth shall set you free" couldn't be more appropriate. And that goes for ALL of them.

Here’s what we know: In Touch recently reported that the Duggar family was being investigated for child abuse — not on old charges, but on current ones. The investigation is reportedly still underway, after a incident in which DHS workers were obligated to call the police when the Duggar family wouldn’t give them access to do a wellness check on the child in question.

In Touch reported something else, though: Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar could have faced charges for covering up the abuse. In their print edition, the magazine noted that the family had hired an attorney with the Friday, Eldridge, and Clark law firm.

This is where it gets interesting: the attorney named, Kevin A. Crass, doesn’t specialize in defense of child abuse charges, or in suing government agencies. However, in his list of specialties, something else appears that could be relevant to the Duggar family’s current state of affairs: breach of contract.
