    No words..
  6. I have some words.

Rick Boyer ends his defence of Josh Duggar with the statement
The Duggars have been casting stones at the rest of us for years, for example calling LGBT people a threat to our children.

In all their years of communing with their god, of homeschooling their kids, it's surprising that none of the Duggars ever learnt the meaning of hypocrisy.

    Or irony, for that matter.
Think carefully before you cast the first stone.

Another example of sexual abuse sheltered by cultish Christians.

The more rigid and isolating a cult the greater the chance that abuse is tolerated.

She is expressing a thought that people are taught in modern secular therapy. There is a whole bunch of research into forgiveness. See Fred Luskin for starters.

Basically, forgiving (but not condoning) is a way to free the victim from the feelings of anger and hatred that stop a person from moving past the hurt to start the healing process.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar -- We're Ready To Talk About the Molestation | TMZ

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are breaking their silence about their son molesting young girls, including some of their own daughters, and they're doing it on Fox News Channel.

Michelle says she and Jim Bob will sit down with Megyn Kelly some time next week to, "share our hearts with you about the pain that we walked through as a family twelve years ago, the tears we all shed and the forgiveness that was given."

This could be a Hail Mary ... as we reported, our sources say TLC is leaning toward canceling "19 Kids and Counting."

Fox News Channel says the interview will air June 3rd at 9 on The Kelly File.

They're gonna throw Satan under the bus within 5 minutes of the interview.

They're going to "share our hearts with you about the pain that we walked through as a family twelve years ago, the tears we all shed, and the forgiveness that was given."

Will they share why they didn't go to the police, why they took Josh to a family friend sheriff who's now serving 50+ years for child porn, why they didn't disclose this to their viewers on their oh-so-honest-and-transparent show or why they didn't do anything to help or support Josh's 5 victims, 4 of whom were his sisters or why they didn't offer any restitution or accountability to the victim who wasn't one of his sisters?

    Yeah, I doubt it too.

This is the clearest timeline in this murky story. It turns out the parents, the Church elders, and the State Police are all mandatory reporters for child abuse. Non reporting is a crime. There is a state investigation file still floating around, sealed, from after the State Patrol/ perv interview and Toungue Lashing. It's well worth the read.

    Hey Springdale police. WTF?

Josh Duggar Chilling Molestation Confession In New Police Report | In Touch Weekly

Josh Duggar confessed to his father Jim Bob Duggar on THREE separate occasions to multiple acts of sexual molestation against his sisters and a family friend, according to a new police report obtained exclusively by In Touch magazine.

The document also makes clear that Josh was 15 years old when he molested his 5-year-old sister and committed at least SEVEN acts of sexual molestation.

The new report is from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was obtained by In Touch using the Freedom of Information Act. In Touch broke the story about Josh’s dark past and previously obtained and published a Springdale Police Department report about the molestations, also by using FOIA.

With fewer redactions than the first report, the Washington County Sheriff’s document makes it clear that despite Josh’s chilling confessions the Duggars waited at least 16 months before contacting authorities about the molestations, even though the behavior was continuing and growing worse. During that period they did not get professional counseling for Josh or his victims. Legal experts tell In Touch that Jim Bob and Michelle could have faced six years in prison for their inaction, if the statute of limitations had not expired.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar Covered Up Molestation | TMZ

Josh Duggar's parents knew he repeatedly molested his five-year-old sister but failed to notify authorities for at least 16 months, according to a just-released police report.

According to the report, obtained by In Touch, Josh confessed to Jim Bob on 3 separate occasions that he molested at least one sister. Here's the worst part: after the first confession, Jim Bob did nothing and the molestations continued. And after the second confession, Jim Bob again did nothing to notify authorities or even get him help and again the molestations continued.

After the third confession, Josh's parents enrolled him in a treatment program, but they did not notify authorities until at least 4 months after the last confession. And get this: the delay was at least 16 months after Josh's first confession. Put another way, had Jim Bob and Michelle notified authorities immediately after Josh's first confession, they might have taken action that would have prevented the subsequent molestations.

It's possible the Duggar parents could have been prosecuted for permitting abuse of a minor, but the statute of limitations has long since passed.

TLC still hasn't announced the fate of "19 Kids and Counting," but now that there's evidence the parents may have covered up the crime, it's going to be hard for TLC to keep the show afloat.

Lest not forget, these "parents" actually had the gall to beam with pride at their children's weddings, proclaiming their purity and innocence proudly, as if it belonged to them. Knowing full well their experience went way beyond side-hugs, and with siblings no less! It's sinister. It's hard to believe they dared place themselves in the public eye.

can the police be held accountable for letting this go?

I AM PISSED THAT THE MEDIA HAS RELEASED HOW OLD THE VICTIM THAT WAS HIS SISTER WAS AT THE TIME.... THIS VIOLATES HER FURTHER AND IS WRONG!!! *full stop*

Agreed, however this chain of events is a direct consequence of the Duggar's cover up and enabling. Her identity would be secure if they had reported it to LE and got them to treatment. The records would be sealed. Now there are journalists crawling around and they WILL publish.

I reject this idea with the most strength I can think of!!! The media should NEVER EVER EVER report any details about victims, esp ones that can lead to them being identified. The wrong done by the Dugger family is ZERO excuse for the wrong being done by the media in the reporting of this case!!! End. PERIOD.
Victims have rights! (or at least they should)
If I was one of the victims I would be suing.
There is no excuse for outing a underage victim! NONE! NEVER!

I doubt any of their kids will sue their parents, i don't know about the other victim.
Blame the parents. They will be appearing live to talk all about it.
  24. nightfire Member

I meant sue the media for releasing information that identifies them as victims.
As that is just wrong, and no other wrong done excuses it.

The media should refuse to publish information (even through interviews) that would identify the victims.

IF the victims want to talk... they are free to do so when they come of age, but before that it shouldn't ever happen!

These poor girls are the victims of a cult. First they are assaulted by a member of the cult, then he is protected , then he assaults them again, lip service is given to treatment. They can't speak against what happened without angering the cult who still controls every aspect of their lives.

Michelle Duggar has cult eyes. IMO
I can not stand the dreamy way she talks about religion and other things. Her stupidity makes me cringe.
This is yet another cult that needs some serious attention.
I think there is a lot more to this family and other families in this cult that need a looky loo.
Seems like another case of children being used and forced to live a life of silence about crimes, secrets and strict cult upbringing. Especially the women, who don't have a chance of becoming anything more than a slave to their idiot husbands and the lord.
I wonder what else people will uncover about these families?

I'm convinced that Quiverfull is a cult, and that the women will only say what the menfolk allow them to say.
