  1. [INFODUMP] Scientology Vs. Psychiatry

All links, articles, youtube videos, everything you come across that talks about and displays how Scientology is against Psychiatry, goes here.

This is not a discussion thread. Post a link, and your comments on what you are linking to, and that is ALL.

As information builds up here on this topic, the staff will likely use this as a resource to create a "main page" article, so try to make your comments clear.

While comments and information builds, this thread will hopefully act as a useful resource for research.

If you wish to create an [INFODUMP] thread on another topic, do it.

  2. Copied from an existing thread...

  3. In this video David Miscavige, the leader of the Church, describes the opposition to psychiatry using "warlike" language, saying things like "smart bomb" and bragging about having caused the revokation of liscences for psychiatrists.

    Why does Scientology demonize Psychiatry?

For the same reasons they demonize me. So that current victims will not learn the facts that Dianetics is nothing more than a perverted version of the state of the art of psychiatric "Advanced Technology" in 1943 - Scientology, at its lower levels, is, simliarly a refried and also perverted version of Jungian free association techniques that also, has been laced with Alestair Crowley's satanic invocations which strip you of your conscience, while you are being told you are on the bridge to "Total Freedom". At Scientology's highest secret levels you are essentially stripped of any money you still have while being made ill by long exposure to the E-meter's electrical effects and driven over the edge.. into a mental state where you are mentally or even physically unable to seek justice for having been defrauded.

for anyone being bullbaited or asked the great psychiatry question about a chemical imbalance, most reasearch says yes, one does exist
    for example:
    too little dopamine => Parkinson's Disease's_disease
    too much dopamine => schizophrenia
dead acetylcholine receptors => too little acetylcholine in the brain => Alzheimer's's_disease

just remember, scientology does not believe any of these diseases are real. remember Elli Perkins. Her schizophrenic son killed her after she refused to get him any real help. Study up and realize what they are doing is truly insane.

glad someone mentioned jung... as some of the basics of Scientology really do remind me of Jung (which imho is of great value)... interesting the scientologie book puts heavy investment in the term "Individuation" but seemingly without reference to Jung ... "Individuation" is central to Jung's theoretical work (if he didn't in fact invent the term - which i think he did)..

EDit: also (and only opinion) Crowley's work was an extension of Jungs work on th shadow autonomus complex... i dont like how crowley is demonized sometimes ... i do think his work has value.... although he was insane... but so was jung rly!...but yes cowley's work does "strip you of your conscience" ... which is kinda bad lol... though still interesting in undertanding the mind

A discussion between a few people and a higher level scientologist (at least OTIII) that has turned into a 28+ page discussion of psychiatry and scientology. Among other things... ... hilly.html

i want to add ADHD/ADD to your list - Scifags are raving about Ritalin (Methylphenidate), "the uproar over Ritalin was triggered almost single-handedly by the Scientology movement." and denying the actual existence of ADHD: - see point 8

They explain ADHD as some "indigo aura" or "indigo children" which have supernatural powers.

/b/ernadette, totally ADDled but not a human UV lamp.

CBS 48 Hours delves into the death of Elli Perkins. Her son Jeremy did not receive proper psychiatric help because the parents believed in $cientology. In March of 2003, Jeremy stabbed his mother 77 times. (1st of 5)

An Australian Scientologist has pleaded not guilty to charges of stabbing her father and sister to death and inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent to murder her mother. The family are Scientologists, and the woman was denied psychiatric help for that reason.

My condolences to the surviving Walicki relatives.

the indigo child concept originates out of the new age movement and has nothing to do with Scientology.

Tom Cruise, Scientology Bash Psychiatry; APA Fires Back (Skeptical Inquirer September/October 2005)

From when Mr. Cruise was on the Today Show and informed Matt Lauer that he knew the history of psychiatry. It has some handy quotes from Tom Cruise and the president of the APA

    Scientology's war on psychiatry -

Discusses anti-psychiatry legislature the Scilons are trying to push, and the general battle between the APA and CCHR that got kinda nasty.

Seeing as I haven't seen it listed... thought I'd throw in a plug. I'm four sections away from finishing my series refuting the claims of their Industry of Death Movies.

There was a series of lawsuits against the APA, the maker of ritalin (Novartis) and CHADD that was brought about or supported by CCHR:
Ritalin class action lawsuits - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Although these were dismissed, up until 2006, they were still up on the CCHR site as though they were active.

    hi all,

    found this Scientology-video on DOCS4YOU.ORG.....

    Psychiatry: An Industry of Death

Through rare historical and contemporary footage and interviews with more than 160 doctors, attorneys, educators, survivors and experts on the mental health industry and its abuses, this riveting documentary blazes the bright light of truth on the brutal pseudoscience and the multi-billion dollar fraud that is psychiatry.

The DVD companion brochure contains over 150 photos and graphics that track the history of psychiatry from it's macabre 18th century origins to today, where 100,000 patients die each year in psychiatric institutions and 20 million children have been put on potentially lethal, mind-altering drugs.

We think you have the right to know the cold, hard facts about psychiatry, its practitioners and the threat they pose to our children.

Order Psychiatry: An Industry of Death documentary and companion brochure. Distribute it to othersassociates, family and friends. Warn them about psychiatrys damaging treatments. When you watch the DVD you will be outraged and will want to act to end these abuses.

"Prepare to be shocked, enlightened, disillusioned."

Dr. Fred Baughman, Jr. Author of The ADHD Fraud: How Psychiatry Makes Patients of Normal Children

"The museum documentaries are probing, unflinching and riveting. They expose chilling facts that all people concerned about human rights will want to know."

Dr. Mary Ann Block Physician and author of No More ADHD, No More Ritalin and Just Because You're Depressed, Doesn't Mean You Have Depression.

YouTube - Scientology: An Introduction part 3

hubbard makes clear his opinion on the mentally ill "the insane" "the nuerotic" in this set of interviews. here getting good at about 3min mark. the bullshitter weighs in on psychiatry..and just really fumbles around with a bunch of lies and bullshit.

after his own psychological diagnosis came in hubbard decided that despising the mentally ill was the best way to prove that he wasn't one of them, which is a clinical response...especially for a sociopath

this is cross posted from a thread of Hubbard quotes on disability:
  30. Yes
. But where are the debunkings of the industry of death movie? I can find no good ones anywhere. Email any refutations and debunkings to (and yes I do know what I just did)
