Halifax, Nova Scotia monthly meetup discussion thread

A few of us have been tossing around the idea of reviving the premeets or meetups or whatever the fuck you want to call them.

The winter is bearing down on us fast, and last year that meant us taking a break where we returned to the internet. While I'm no big fan of standing around in the snow, winter activity can be fun and worthwhile. Especially when it's well planned.

So with all of this in mind, I'd like to propose a revival of the meetups and hold them on a monthly basis. One of us has a contact who runs a local coffee shop/internet cafe on the peninsula in Halifax. He could be willing to provide us with a good venue for this if we actually buy a coffee while we're there.

So the question is, if we had meetups once a month on a weekday night.... would you come?

There's alot of shit coming down the pipeline for us in the near future that would be made better with careful planning.

I concur as well, I think this is a good idea. Next time I am in Halifax I would be willing to join if my timing is right.

    Sweetness.

Alright I'll speak to our contact and report back so we can discuss what day of the week would be best.

So we spoke to the proprietor of Carlitos Cafe on Quinnpool Road.

He says he is familiar with our cause, and has no problem with us using his shop as a meet point. The only catch is this: he's recently scaled back his hours because of the change in season.

He now closes at 6pm every day, which means meeting on a weekday could be problematic for us.

What would you guys think of meeting on Sunday afternoons?

The beauty of carlitos is it's got an intimate atmosphere -so beyond having an owner friendly to us- if anyone is worried about potential spais, they'd be pretty easy to spot.

Carlitos is right across from the Canadian Tire on Quinnpool. Here's a link.

Sundays would be good. As an added bonus it'll be easier to track 50-year-olds with the Freewinds Cough in an enclosed area.

Good way for OSA spais to infiltrate Halifags.

re: Halifax, Nova Scotia monthly meetup discussion thread

Infiltrate us? That would be fucking hilarious. I doubt the local scilons have that kind of skill.

In fact, I'm so confident about this that I hearby challenge them to show up in that shop to at least observe us. I mean, there's no way we could possibly be made aware of their presence.

Also, Sundays work for me. I'm excited about this.

I'm game, assuming I have no other occupations requiring my immediate and full attention. I'll need a heads up so I can book work off.

Plus I've gotta get a drive in xD.

Also, I assume we won't be wearing our masks..How the hell do we figure out who is and isn't Anon? I mean, I have a t-shirt with the logo in my avatar and "We Are Legion" above it, but I doubt you guys have anything other than the masks. What do?

Protip: show up. Try to act normal. The other anons will spot you immediately. Always works for us in Boston, no matter how new the newfag.

It's a small shop we'll recognize each other from the shifty eyes. Like seriously, tiny shop. I might put out a guy fawkes mask on the table or something, but it's prolly not necessary.

So I'm gonna put a date out there, what about Sunday December 13th in the afternoon? Say 4pm?

Also <3's to our seekrit agunt.

Re: Halifax, Nova Scotia monthly meetup discussion thread

I'll try. It may be too late to book off work. If I can't, I usually start at 4 (it's a part time job), so an earlier meeting time would be better for me.

Re: Halifax, Nova Scotia monthly meetup discussion thread

How much earlier? I'm good pretty much any time after lunchish. I'm assuming if you're needing a drive you'd need time to get back to work as well.

    What about 1 or 2pm?

1-2 sounds good, earlier the better because yes, you're right, and I work in Elmsdale, so it's a bit of a drive lol.

ITT: Anons letting OSA know when & where to get some easy facefagging done. (The advance notice is an especially thoughtful touch.)

Re: Halifax, Nova Scotia monthly meetup discussion thread

Untrue. Precautions have been taken, and we've chosen our meetup place very carefully. Carlitos is a very small cafe.

Not to mention I think it's unlikely they'll even bother to try, every step of the way the police have been made aware of their creepy behavior. They'd be stupid to try something like that while one of them is up on assault charges.

Re: Halifax, Nova Scotia monthly meetup discussion thread

Not that facefagging is a big problem. How many of us have our faces along with our real names posted somewheres? Gonna be hard for them to tag us to some real info.

Re: Halifax, Nova Scotia monthly meetup discussion thread

Very productive meeting, really glad we've started these back up.

Two important things... we agreed we should have another meetup in January to plan the next raid, be it a fliering expedition or something else. Proposed date would be Sunday January 10th at the same time, 1pm. Once again at Carlitos on Quinpool.

    Any opposed?

We were tentatively talking about our next operation being a week or two after the next meetup.

    Thoughts?
