    Then it's a FAIL?

If they were going to put the energy into the operation, the least they could have done is use a site people actually GO to. LOL the clams probably didn't even know about the [STRIKE]raid[/STRIKE] insider job until OSA saw it on here.

    Still, I LoL'd

Authorities: Sounds serious. Shows us what they did.
    Tommy Davis: Uuuuuuuuuu... never mind.
  9. Re: hacker attack on www.scientology-europe.org

True, but the fact that it actually happened despite how many publics would see it still makes it worthwhile. if it all, it gave us a laff.

Tried to look at the site. Just got a new firewall installed and got this:

This site has been blocked by the network administrator.
    URL: http://www.scientology-europe.org/index.htm
    Block reason: Forbidden Category "Cult/Occult"
If you believe the below web site is rated incorrectly click here

The block list is off-site and maintained by the firewall company.

Alas, it doesn't work for scientology.org

Guess I'll have to have them update it!

    Re: hacker attack on www.scientology-europe.org

Nah, not a 404, this is a firewall block. Several Scientology sites are blocked for the "cult/occult" reason. Anyone usin' this company and their default list has them blocked by default. New list is loaded with oddities (ie MySpace is blocked as "inappropriate adult material"), but this one (cult/occult) I like.

    Re: hacker attack on www.scientology-europe.org

.... they didn't say it 404'd for you, they said it 404'd for them. It 404'd for me as well, but cool firewall story, bro.

    Re: hacker attack on www.scientology-europe.org

    I'm laughing.

The site is "back up", but that's not how it was before.

Take a look at the source:
Why would CoS need to restore from an externally archived copy? Maybe the site is still in play.

    Re: hacker attack on www.scientology-europe.org

Pwning a few Euroclams is always lulzy but the real value would be if the EU IT press were to pick up and run with this story. The servers that matter are all pretty safely tucked behind Prolexic firewalls making them not so easy to get to, even for some "insider". But IT fags don't really care. A redirection of a scilon website, even if it was just a fail URL is still newsy. Feeding them screenshots of the redirected page would give them something to write about and the mainstream aggregators would pick up on what they wrote. Next thing you know, people who know nothing about this cult would be exposed to the whyaretheydead site for the first time.

But news cycles are short. Hopefully someone in the region has gotten on this.

There is still time for lots moar win.

All I can say is LULZ.
  29. Re: hacker attack on www.scientology-europe.org

2 guesses, either CofS is trying to preserve evidence, or the original site is totally corrupted.

Sec Checks should be ongoing right about now, regardless. And the RPF population should be expanding shortly.

Bads as it seems, I can thinks of a few nice parting gifts were I a disillusioned staff member, this'd be one of the 'low tech' ones.
Hope it drives 'em nuts trying ta figure out who dunnit. (we'll know if it was an inside job just by the number of Sec-checks, ;) )

Maybe the Culties are sick of paying Prolexic?

Might be worth seeing if the main sites are still with Px.
