There is something about this last sentence that is creative and funny.

Yes henri, but more troubling to Bob was your IRC granfalloon...the simple maliciousness of it. let alone where it came from.

Bob Minton, free speech advocate, critic of scientology abuse and fraud. Great sense of humor and irony.

With all due respect to WBM...

I am glad that he could find some common ground with his former persecutors if that's what it took for Bob to find peace.

    Forgiveness is a good thing.

    At the same time...

IMO, his former persecutors were still responsible for taking 10-20+ years off Bob's life.

When you take what is left of someone's life, that is called murder.

That was the intention of the $cilons and that is what they did.

I call it what it is. Murder By $cilon.

If Rathbun and Rinder have turned over a new leaf, they need to address this.

    Directly and publicly.

man, I wish we had handlers like that, how much fun would it be to torment them

Re: Goodnight Sweet Prince: Bob Minton

No , deciding to end someone's life and going out and ending it is called murder.

Murder is not being mean to someone who dies 10 years later.

You weren't around a decade ago when handlers were instructed to aggressively yell at, scream in people's ears & follow, bump, push, elbow & trip protesters as a coordinated group.

You weren't around when Joe Neal (OSA-Clearwater) ordered me & another Scilon to follow a protester to the back of the Fort Harrison and blind side him with a slug to the face. Those were violent times. The handlers today are wimpish buffoons compared to then.

We wanted handlers like that in the early days, really would have made the job much easier. Why don't they do that anymore ?

You know, this is a memorial thread to someone who really deserves one. I know this ain't no hugbox, but I'm happy there's a thread here where we can honor him.

Or insult him and those who appreciate him, if that's what you need to do to get through the day.

I'd like more posts like Smurf's, so I can learn more about this very generous man.

Whatever WMB says, I believe Rinder and Rashbum are planning a Miscavige coup. One day the scales will fall from Bunker's eyes.

But I want to hear stories about Minton. R&R are going to come up because, sadly, they were a big part of Minton's story. But they're the focus of other threads, and incidental players in this one.

It's a rare person who reads about some group in the newspaper, a group that has nothing whatsoever to do with him or his family, researches the group, uncovers the outrages, and then just marches onto their turf and takes them on. In a pretty amusing way.

    Rather like Anon.

Their actions got notice and discussed by the international media. Amazingly, it's one of the things that finally sunk in with Scientology management... very bad PR moves, particularly when they were working hard to get the Clearwater Police on their side (despite widely condemning the police chief Sid Klein & the department in a Freedom Magazine expose and staging group protests at the CPD.)

OSA continues to coordinate physical attacks now & then on individual protesters and then secludes the attacker so they could deny Scientology was involved.

Re: Goodnight Sweet Prince: Bob Minton

    dunno,
but I'm grateful to Bob Minton for taking a punch in the face- so I don't have to
also for getting Smurf to stop punching people in the face- so nobody else has to either.

If you're volunteering to be punched in the face by the next crazy scilon you meet, knock yourself out.

Re: Goodnight Sweet Prince: Bob Minton

I punched, kicked and beat up people for the cult. Even torched someone's car & burned down their garage. I was also on the receiving end of the violence when I didn't perform to someone's standards. I was not alone. It was just another everyday example of the cycle of violence that occurred in the Church of Scientology.

Obviously, the cult hasn't learned much in a decade.

What does "secludes the attacker" mean, please? Do they hide him/her on the Failwinds, in a different country, in Hemet, what?

    I'm mystified.

    Yeah.
I'm glad you don't punch people in the face anymore. :)
Glad for Bob that he helped you get to where you weren't doing that.

Not *glad* that Bob got punched in the face (or glad that you or other OSA punched people) but I'm glad that it wasn't me. :/

    thanks, bob
and thanks to you, too Smurf!

The CoS might think that by forcing him to back down that they beat Minton.

But as in all other things, sooner or later, the truth will out.

When that day comes - in either a book or film film - the CoS will take a PR hit it will never recover from.

    RIP BM

I'm an atheist but if there is a heaven to go to ... Bob would deserve it. Much loved and much respected.

He had balls in the 90's when the cult thought it had a open goal. He was the Cooper of the 90's. Plz remember that he spent over $8million dollars of his own money fighting the cult. They got him in the end but he lived long enough to see the rise of Anonymous. Great Justice. Great Justice. Great Justice.

    Sleep well old friend.
