Scientology bares no expense in building vaults & underground tunnels:

/tinfoil

Perhaps the tunnels are starting to rain dust every time a truck goes over...
6. Re: The Valley Chronicle: "Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers"

I'll see your tinfoil, and raise, by saying:

Perhaps the illegaly built tunnels are structurly unsound, which makes them not only unuseable by the cult, they are also ready to collapse, and are a deathtrap waiting to happen for the driving public at large, which is the REAL impetus for closing the road.

An independant inspection by CalTrans engineers might be in order?

Baca-fy that bitch NAO.

THIS TOO.

BTW, if someone knows how to look up a user on this site, PM me? I failed to figger it out on my own. :( Was going to PM Baca about this, but the only way I know to do that is by clicking on him via a posting of his, and I don't know how to find those. Searching for "Nathan Baca" brings up tons of threads mentioning him.

Tao is not with us

If it was Jeff Stone would of not been able to pass that measure he would of weighed the consequences and found it to be career suicide

we need more support in riverside

perhaps we should look into there permit
or into company's who can build a tunnel in riverside

14. Re: The Valley Chronicle: "Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers"

Something's not making sense here. To construct a tunnel in the first place, one must file permits and have them approved, otherwise it's illegal construction which could put public safety at risk. So which is it? Are there public records? If not, something stinks to high heaven. Nathan?

Re: The Valley Chronicle: "Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers"

The existence of he tunnels is certainly nothing new, but I can't find anything over at XENU.NET about them being built (plenty about other tunnels in NM etc).

Barb will be able to tell us something I'm sure, but are there any dox showing permits were issued, inspections carried out etc?
16. Re: The Valley Chronicle: "Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers"

Indeed, Dox are needed. So are poons.

A tunnel is not a small project.
I'm not an engineer, but as part of the driving public I would be interested in: what the load bearing limit is? How wide are these things? How deep are they down? What earthquake protections are in place? (hemet is only a few miles away from the San Andras faultline) Ventilation? Fire protection systems? Are the thermal exaust ports as wide as a womprat?

Re: The Valley Chronicle: "Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers"

love the womprat

Do tell if this is old news, and if this is a legal and all of there ducks are in a row

doesn't it have to be inspected every so often?

Tunnels under a major road in a seismically active area and no permits to be found any where?

Maybe there are? Usually you have to petition and hold open hearings to do shit like that (even back in 1980).

California Seismic safety commission?

Cal trans?

Riverside county?

I should clarify; I'm on AO's email distribution list and he sent this to me. I asked him if I could post it, because I thought people would be interested to know where the story came from. His response was basically, "go ahead and post it if you want to, but I'm not asking you to." And he was very explicit in that he didn't care about getting credit for it.

Not to open a can of worms here, but I think it's worthwhile pointing out that the guy's digging up a lot of docs and generating coverage of some of these subjects that are deserving of scrutiny. I know this isn't going to mollify the haters, but I thought the information should be posted.

And no, I'm not AO.

Yeah I know, Smurf.

Well in that case, tell him to please keep it up.
Like with my earlier "frozen AO in the cooler" post, he's fine as long as he keeps his massive trolling energies focused on THE SCILONS, and not us. I'm very fickle, I like him as long as he's not kicking up MORE useless drama, and DOX is always good.

Re: The Valley Chronicle: "Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers"

Some type of dox would be really good for this. Does anyone know anyone who may have been around when these tunnels were constructed that could help narrow down dates for dox search?

Also, innocent questions about the safety of BIG ASS HOLES UNDER THE ROAD have been sent to a few in California who might have ability to question this as well because, well, grandma lives out there. Yeah, that's it, that's the ticket.

Sink holes wouldn't be good in the middle of a road in a geographically volatile area.

Re: The Valley Chronicle: "Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers"

Fraser said, “This is way premature, We have filed nothing. There is nothing to even talk about yet.”
but,
"Verne Lauritzen, chief of staff to Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone, said representatives of the Church of Scientology have approached Stone several times regarding closure of the road."

Somebody is lying again. There must have been something to talk about if Fraser scheduled several meetings.
It also seems like there is a very cozy connection on many levels between Jeff Stone's office and the scientology compound officials. How long it would take Citizen X to get just one single meeting with Stone? I mean, without paying a bribe or threatening to stop buying vitamins from him?

Re: The Valley Chronicle: "Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers"

Tunnels look pretty big to me always hard to be sure with photos like this, but that tunnel looks like it would fit any of those vehicles parked nearby. Waiting for someone who's been through them to tell us more.

27. Re: The Valley Chronicle: "Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers"

Looks like we may need to put out an all-points bulletin for DOX on these tunnels.

When were they built?

Who built them?

Where were they built?

Where are their exact locations?

With what?

Is there anyone out there who worked on the project?

Who was in charge of the project?

We need names, dates, permit #s both local and state (if they exist), building contracts (if they exist), survey location markers or GPS coordinates, California statutes and/or CalTrans laws and regulations regarding building ON or UNDER highways, California statutes and/or CalTrans laws and regulations regarding MAINTANCE of the same.

IS this shit even LEGAL because they don't even OWN that land.

We need to find Exes who know! Can someone hit up ARS? Can someone contact Sponge to cross-post this on OCMB? Also, please cross-post on bords where Exs congregate, like EXSCN, ExSciKids, and especially EXSO?

Oh, I get it. Roads become a problem when too many people use them. That explains it. I guess all the roads in LA should be shutdown then. Trying to take the property of citizens without payment, par for the course for this cult.
30. Re: The Valley Chronicle: "Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers"

No, you can see the entrances, not the tunnels themselves. Google Earth dosen't have ground-penetrating RADAR (yet).

Re: The Valley Chronicle: "Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers"

At first it seemed all tinfoily because I imagined a long tunnel like the underground lair in a spy movie with henchmen riding back and forth on golf carts. I see from the pics that they're more similar to a culvert. Interesting, but let's not let our (my) imaginations run wild.

But standing over them with sign pointing down:
CULT UNDERGROUND LAIR HERE
would still be fun

These tunnels seem to be able to take a car quite easily. I just got some higher definition photos from our contacts at the Russian Embassy (they had to re-task a bird to fly over for us)

Here's the left hand "pedestrian tunnel" - compare the diameter to the car on the highway in the left of the photo.

tunnelleft.jpg

And here is the right hand tunnel. Once again, it looks rather large (one side of the tunnel is arrowed - the other side is the large hold just due South)

There are huge blue prints in JPG format out there somewhere where the tunnel is shown. I just can't find it in my mountain of docs at the moment.

fixt:
Hmm, indeed.

I wonder why they don't just enlarge one or both of the tunnels so they can use them for proper vehicle traffic instead of just for the pedestrians and "golf carts". It would be much easier to get approval to do that than expect the county to close off a main transport artery based on the dubious whining of the cult. If its all about road safety then that would solve it for the least inconvenience and minimal cost. Along with that, other measures which dramatically improve road safety for everyone could be done at very low cost such as no right turns out of the base or left turns into the base, across the flow of traffic, as well as adding slip-roads to the entrance/exit junctions of the base so that vehicles coming out can get up to speed and merge with the traffic as well as peel off from the traffic flow when going into the base.

Closing the road is just such a hugely batshit proposition and I think Fraser knows it. All this malarky has echos of DM going mental, well, more mental than he already is, and screaming at people to "make it go right". At the moment, it is almost as if the cult seems to be poking around, quite crudely, for weaknesses and for sympathetic officials. Excuse the tinfoil but also watch out for red herrings... like this being an attention decoy for something else even more alarming.

I really hope the cult keep on at this stupid idea because it will recruit a lot more fresh critics. I've always thought that we needed more locals from the gold base region kicking up a stink. The locals who use those roads a lot are the ones who's lives are going to be inconvenienced most. The resultant Rivercide Supes meetings would be a riot to watch (Julie + Lirra * 10^9000).

It wouldn't be half as bad if it were a proposition put forward by an organisation that actually produced something of value to the county and the state economy, like jobs and taxes, if there was a genuine argument to show an improvement in that value if the road were closed..... but a fucking useless bawwwing cult slave labour camp ffs?!

Re: The Valley Chronicle: "Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers"

CoS has been claiming that the highway is dangerous as a tactic against pickets for at least 11 years.

Judge OKs picketing of church February 21, 1998, Susan Thurston, Press-Enterprise
Yeah, I'm so sure that Hoden had Keith's welfare in mind when he went to talk with him. (Where is Hoden these days?)

And if it's sooo dangerous, why do they send their staff out along it?

Tunnels under road ferry Golden Era workers

By CHARLES HAND/The Valley Chronicle
Published: Friday, August 28, 2009 3:15 PM CDT
Scientology spokeswoman Catherine Fraser conceded this week that workers at Golden Era Productions can pass from one side of Gilman Springs Road to the other without crossing Gilman Springs Road.

Several people contacted The Valley Chronicle after reading recent stories in which Fraser said the safety of workers is a consideration in the group’s consideration of asking that Gilman Springs Road be closed.

Fraser conceded the organization built two tunnels under Gilman Springs Road that can be used by employees who want to travel between the two halves of the Scientology complex.

Fraser said, though, that no decision to seek closure of the road has been made and expressed some frustration over the attention being paid to the issue.

“This is way premature,” she said. “We have filed nothing. There is nothing to even talk about yet.”

Fraser said the tunnels are not large enough for vehicles larger than golf carts. “Those aren’t vehicles,” she said.

That does not mean closing the road may be not be a way to solve problems associated with the increase in vehicle traffic over the last 10 years, said Fraser, but it could be a way to make travel safer.

“I don’t know if that’s going to be the thing to solve the problem,” she said.

Verne Lauritzen, chief of staff to Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone, said representatives of the Church of Scientology have approached Stone several times regarding closure of the road.
