Oh... it's much worse than just towing it out in the middle of nowhere and sinking it. It may be of Panamanian registry, but it's in dock in a Dutch territory. I imagine Dutch environmental laws are as strict, if not more strict, than US ones.

You can't just knowingly tow and sink a shipload of crap like this. Nor can you knowingly turn it over to a scrapyard without first taking care of the health risk.

I think it's a little premature to say, "this thing will never sail again." We don't know the actual extent of the contamination. Based on Woodcraft's description though, it sounds like it would (at the very least) be expensive as hell to mitigate. I think the ship's value is something like $13MM... with FSSO holding about $3MM in equity in it.

However you slice this -- it's going to cost 'em a bundle. Especially since it's dry-docked in a port under the control of a country that's not going to let them slink away in the night. This thing isn't going anywhere soon -- as long as it's clear the eyes of the world are on it.

A bit of srs bizness - can I suggest for all those ex's on the boards here, that if you've been on that rusty tin bucket, get a cancer screening just for your own peace of mind if nothing else. I'm not sure how that works in the US, but I know in Australia the Cancer Coucil will point you in the right direction to get a quick and thorough cancer screen done. If you're at all worried, and really, you have every right to be, please look into this and make sure to get a copy of the report from the screen.

Re April 30th...You havent seen anything yet, and I don't make this stuff up, there is a guy who has been researching the numerology connected to the CST repositories, and I don't know numerology, or whatever... but the stuff he has found from looking at the planning commission files on the construction of Hubbard's residences... and what could be found about the CST repository sites, also from county and city planning commission and code inspector files, (Most of which has already been webbed in the CST directory) paint a picture of occultic satanic obsession that is difficult to deal with in any dose.. and that most of the weirdest stuff was done after Hubbard died.. indicates that Miscavige is actively into this stuff -. I would like to see the lawsuit also include "criminal negligence" potentially causing harm. and also let greenpeace know about this, I am sure that when the reno's were being done that a good portion was tossed overboard. Many of the smaller cabins were integrated into larger course rooms. This would mean alot of extra asbestos from removed walls needed to go somewhere. Someone should look for dox pertaining to hazmat removal and waste logs for the freewinds.

Hey guys... The thread didn't get much attention when I posted it on Gaf.. but I'm just glad I did..

Don't bother contacting any one on St. Maarten this week. The whole island is either slowed down or shut down because carnival just started yesterday. The daily herald actually released a statement in thier newspaper saying that there will not be another issue until next monday... (Not that it really matters though since the boat is in Curacao and not St. Maarten)

But I have a couple journalist friends one works for the newspaper and I talked to him yesterday and he told me he would check some of his contacts in Curacao for more information.

Also.. more info: Language of the land in Curacao is Papiamento, which is a mix of spanish, english and dutch.. But Most people... especially government officials can speak all three of the source languages as well.

Anyways If I get any more info about it.. I'll be sure to post it here...
