    The irony is breathtaking.........................

heres tom cruise saying "why ask permission"," we are the authorities."

heres why you brain dead space cadet........

this is why we have regulations about dangerous stuff like asbestos, when you substitute the common sense regulations of the genuine authoritys, with your own completely false sense of superiority............. this is what happens.

the real crime here is those poor drydock workers who were knowingly exposed to blue asbestos, by the boats owners. the magnitude of this criminal act staggers me, the callous disregard for these people, should tell you a lot about this organisation and its ethics.

How would one go about determining the insurance carrier for a ship like that?
  19. Joyful Member

Re: Freewinds sealed and blue abestos confirmed

I would almost bet that they are self insured, meaning that they take the risk on themselves.

My boss and I were talking about this today. (We're insurance agents) And he said he wouldn't be surprised if them being a "church" would insulate them against any liability lawsuits. He said there is something about churches being exempt or something. But then we got busy and couldn't pursue it further.

I don't know how much of this applies but this information about cruise lines is interesting.

Way to get Freewinds covered AND stop the current griping about CNN...

I urge people to write CNN about the Freewinds story.

There's a lot of anger over their shitty "Scientology is on YouTube" report today and I think that can all be CHANNELED instead of just vented.

    A few suggestions:

Any communication to CNN should NOT BE WHINY.

It should at least TRY and sound positive and should pertain to CURRENT EVENTS.

    Maybe along these lines:

"Guys! I loved that CNN report on Scientology! But I admit I was a bit disappointed that you'd do a story on Scientology TODAY and not even mention the fact that one of their main headquarters, a ship named the Freewinds, which they've had thousands of people live on at various points in time, was discovered to be infested with blue asbestos. This is breaking vital news about Scientology, and I felt it being neglected was a serious oversight by CNN!"

Be direct with CNN, but don't be angry. Yet. Use CURRENT EVENTS as your main thrust. Later on, if the Freewinds story airs, we can use the crack opened to get MORE aired.

A smaller team of people should write using Jason Beghe's interview as a "why didn't you mention it" thing, but since its not as current, the main thrust by the majority of writers to them should be the Freewinds. And DON'T do a huge rant or infodump about their abuses in general. STAY ON POINT and just write them about ONE THING. They'll take you more seriously if you do.

Unfortunately, OSHA has no jurisdiction in Freeport. However, the locals are probably quite capable of taking care of it themselves.

WIN WIN WIN. And not to mention the historic value. Win. I think someone should do a youtube vid on it.

Roger Friedman at FoxNews has had an ongoing story about CO$ as you may know. In spite of Greta having a show on Fox - Friedman has been quite critical of CO$ for a while. He finally updated the Beghe story on the web site to include Jason's letter to DM about obtaining all his records.

I don't know how many have emailed FoxNews yet, but they have been doing a decent job at getting much of the story right. exOT8Micheal said that CNN are unusually scared of the CO$. That says a lot.

Perhaps a dumb idea but perhaps a phone campaign to inform org workers about the Freewinds would be okay?

Baghdad Bawwwwwbette. You'll only get stale caek and made up stories from her. As the minister of misinformation, it's the cults job job to keep her as much in the dark as possible. Lately it seems, she's been getting most of her news from Anonymous.

Fuck I just remembered.... Rick Ross was on FoxNews channel today because of that Apocolyptic bat-shit cult in New Mexico cult story that just broke today. He only spoke briefly but Fox introduced Rick as a world renowned expert on cults. As you may know he has written extesively on CO$.

    HOLY THETANS! 2001 asbastos report

I'll stumble through it - it's close enough to Portuguese - and it is fairly close to the one in English, but has a bit more detail.

HOLY THETANS!!! They are talking about "na aña 2001" which is in 2001 ... you really need that papamientofag. I'll write to the Prensa and ask them for English.

Re: Freewinds sealed and blue abestos confirmed

d00d I already translated it on page 7. It is the same story but not verbatim. It has a couple of different names. There is no great need to bother LaPrensa. Papiamento is pidgin so anyone who knows any of the languages (Port/Eng/Dut) can have a whack at it. It helps to have the machine do some of the work but also hurts when it fills it with garbage. Our greatest need is to have professional journalists prod the Curacaoan officials so that it doesn't get swept under another rug with a bribe. Bugging their journalists will be perceived as an annoyance.

Re: Freewinds sealed and blue abestos confirmed

If Scientology really cared about its members, it could conduct a data analysis of members who had been on the Freewinds to see if there is a spike of cancers for those people. I've always heard there seems to be many OTs who get cancer. Maybe this can be shown to be the cause.
You just need to assign numbers to all Scientologists with higher numbers going to those who have the most exposure to the ship. Keep track of the date of the first exposure. Correlate that to a list of Scientologists who've gotten cancer (especially the types of cancer related to asbestos). Ta da. You've got a pretty good evidence to either point to or discount the Freewinds as the source of cancer. Of course it's more complicated than that, such as you have to take into account the length of time it usually takes asbestos to work it's magic.
I'll bet Scientology could do this easily with the databases they already have. And I'll bet they won't do it because they care about money, not people.
It might be possible for ex's and critics to do a crude study like this, but it probably wouldn't be a big enough sample to show much.

Re: Freewinds sealed and blue abestos confirmed

Actually, it really is. My grandfather died when I was two due to lung cancer caused by smoking and exposure to asbestos. The doctors at the time said each on their own is bad enough, but combining them is really quite deadly.
