I, for one, do not fault AO for rejecting the plea, though I'll happily join in the condemnation of his other numerous idiocies.

There were (and are) no visible signs to around that area at Gold to indicate someone would be trespassing there. AO's video shows that he was leaving after one of the guards told him he shouldn't be there and then the guards jumped on him.

I personally believe that Riverside County will have a very difficult time securing a conviction on that charge (which may have something to do with him being offered such a generous plea) and a victory there would be a major PR and legal win against the cult and their corrupt cronies in law enforcement and government.

The sad thing is is that AO is actually smart enough to realize all of that, which I would guess is his rationale for not taking the offer. Unfortunately, at the same time, he lacks the common sense to abide by the judge's order not to harrass the Scis, which threatens to derail the whole thing.

Yes, and I've met him too. I've watched him piss off pretty much every one around him with his cockamammie antics, which started way before the whole Gold episode.

That said, I don't think he's a plant. First off, if the Scis were smart enough to come up with that idea, they would have executed it better. Unless their goal isn't to convince the public that we're bad, but that we're all morons.

Relyt, this information you found posted isn't quite right, and frankly, neither was the report I originally posted -- which is why I eventually went back and removed it. I broke a cardinal rule in not verifying the information I received that day before posting it. In essence, there is now considerable rumor mixed in with fact regarding what actually occurred, and I doubt if OSA will ever accurately figure out which is which.

I don't pretend to understand what goes on in AO's head, but I will say this. For the sake of the critic movement I'm glad he didn't take that offer. He has a brilliant case that exposes Scientology on sooo many levels. And personally, I'm looking forward to justice being served to the three security goons who behaved like wild animals out there. I am especially glad that psychotic menace to society Danny Dunigan has since been reigned in. That man needed a reality check.

At this point, it also does not matter what others' opinions are. The man is fighting many things. If his decision to take this to trial gets more media focus on the cult, if it contributes one iota to the failure of DM's corporate money-laundering schemes, if it contributes to the fall of the con of scientology and frees people, what does anyone care? There are many, many anons here who are full of fail, and I've gotten my share of facepalms myself. I can only fight from behind my computer. This guy is out there on his feet IRL, and quite a few here have turned to acting like the bullbaiting scilons that they pretend to fight, hiding behind their monitors instead of a fake "church".

EXACTLY. I haven't met him IRL, but I've been listening to the people who've been on the street with him, and it ain't pretty. And if his response to anyone who disagrees with him is to threaten to SUE -- sounds to me like classic Narcissistic Personality Disorder. From Wiki:
