He was really running 99% of the show by late 1981. Hubbard's written orders came to WDC members in parts of 82 and 83 then faded out. But even then Miscavige was running all the key parts of organized scientology from ASI by running the top dogs in CMO/WDC, Special Unit and RTC.

I know I'm very slow at replying to this, but seeing that certainly more than half of the posts made in this thread are about whether something is shopped or not, has gotten me feeling sorry for the lot of you. In a thread that's supposed to be about "fact-checking", or rather, seeing what they're lying or exaggerating about, etc. Good on the ones who are actually putting out facts to counter their statements and arguments, but please, if you're going to have a huge discussion about whether the confetti is a lie or if you see duplicates, create a different thread for it.

Another thing about the "lies" they print, or have said in the past, is that while many of them are lies, other parts are just "acceptable truths", or ambiguous statements.

Such as:
"LRH technology has been introduced to over X amount of people worldwide in Y year". "Introduced" obviously doesn't indicate whether or not people have accepted it, taken it into consideration, or even paid attention to it. Like BFG said, they find reasons in which to inflate the numbers in any way they can. For example, if they displayed a commercial on three separate channels, and added up the total ratings of those TV stations as the number of people who have been "introduced".

Another one:
"Scientology basics have been put in 97,000 libraries worldwide". This can be true, that they "put" books in libraries, or rather "sent them to", but it doesn't mean that the libraries kept the books. Especially since some of us have investigated those claims ourselves, only to find that the librarians admitted to getting rid of the boxes of books they have sent, or that some of them never received any at all.
