The HK91 is a semi-auto version of the G3, which is an assault rifle. The MP5 is a machinepistol. They have different applications. I'd rather have a G3 than a HK91 - not because the G3 has full auto, but because magazine change is faster. When choosing between an MP5 and a G3, I'd ask what it's going to be used for. Police/guard duty/personal protection in battle: MP5. Battle fighting: G3.

Gold Base might have gotten some newer weapons, but fielded guns have not changed a lot the last decade or two - at least in the the actual firing mechanism. The most changes are in sighting devices (aim point, laser etc. etc.)

Militaries around the world are also increasingly exchanging their 7.62 mm assault rifles with 5.56 mm ones, because you can carry a higher number of rounds and the shots are less likely to pass through the enemy and hit a civilian in an urban environment.

Anyway, any armed response to cult activities - unless they force themselves into your home and try to kill you - would be the government's job. And I don't think DM is going to go Waco on us, though anything is possible.

In the state of California, it is a criminal offense for a private individual to own a military style semi-automatic rifle or shotgun. Full auto firearms are subject to draconian California Dept. of Justice requirements which makes owning them by civilians very arduous. If there are such firearms on the Gold Base, they are there illegally.

One is named: CEC Directory 2002, Flag CEC, Clearwater FL.pdf

It is from 2002 and is a list of contact names and phone numbers in the Clearwater Area. Clear Expansion Committee 2002. Page 8 & 9 are contacts for Girl Guide and Boy Scouts.
