"ENTHETA" Scientology's Biggest Trap

  1. "ENTHETA" Scientology's Biggest Trap

Once a member has bought into this made-up concept of Hubbard's concerning all negative information about Scientology they have lost the ability to use critical thought and further entrap themselves in this endless scam. Any group that refuses to allow critical thought and correct their faults including criminal activiities is condemning itself to failure.

There is "NOTHING" slanderous, choppy or destructive in the "FACTS" presented by ANONYMOUS concerning Scientology's fraudulant and criminal behavior. Help stop this child-labor abusing, lying, thieving, kidnapping, bribing, extorting, government-infiltrating, perjuring, gulag operating CULT to an END!

Quote marks indicate either that you're quoting someone or else that you are being sarcastic. Do not use them for emphasis; that is an erroneous usage and makes you look illiterate.

    Re: "ENTHETA" Scientology's Biggest Trap

Scientology also believe that "Man is basically good", yet it's quite clear that Miscavige is a bit of a cunt, all be told really, wouldn't you say?

So what does that make Scientology's illustrious leader? Inhuman?

"Scientology - something can be done about it" - absolutely, that's why we're here, to do something about it - destroy it.

baz you fell for the contextual spambot trap.

    Re: "ENTHETA" Scientology's Biggest Trap

Nah I didn't really fall for it, I just wanted an opportunity for any OSA lurkers who have to read and report on everything that mentions David Miscavige by name, so there's absolutely no doubt how much contempt we have for the little turdbucket, and how pleased we will be when he gets what he deserves when the inevitable happens - not if, but when.

Tick tick tick Davey Boy ... can you hear it coming?

    Re: "ENTHETA" Scientology's Biggest Trap

    Actually that statement is better portrayed by the following quotes;

[IMG]“Truth would be the holding or voicing of facts as one knows them and refusal to utter or hold statements contrary to what one knows

    - L Ron Hubbard
    Science of Survival (page 155)

“While it may be true that something is destructive or that a person is bad, it serves no purpose to make the statement, the issuance of this “truth” is in reality the establishing of an entheta line.”

    - L Ron Hubbard
    Science of Survival (page 156)

The chapter on "truth" on SoS is particularly telling. The "what's true for you" crap is all about separating perceptive truths from factual reality.. Naturally the rabbit hole is deeper and even Alice would opt to tread..

"You have heard some very absurd things out among the crowd. Realize that the speaker was more interested in asserting his own rightness than being right"

    - L Ron Hubbard
Introduction to Scientology Ethics (Page 59)

"COROLLARY: ANY DATUM HAS ONLY RELATIVE TRUTH."
"COROLLARY: TRUTH IS RELATIVE TO ENVIRONMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND TRUTH."

    - L Ron Hubbard
Advanced Procedures and Axioms (page 163)

.. the list goes on and on.

No, it's not for emphasis. lrn2literacy.
People sometimes use quotation marks for sarcasm/irony (or when quoting people, of course).
If you really were using it for emphasis you come across as an illiterate butcher or greengrocer.

LOLWrong. The quotes you used denote sarcasm (scare quotes), giving your post a meaning opposite your intention. Grammar Nazi's right.

Entheta is so dangerous. IMHO, there needs to be a lot more education/awareness about what this word means. Especially for younger (or less literate) people - it would be great if someone could come up with a cartoon or a captioned-photo to illustrate the danger of this concept.

    Re: "ENTHETA" Scientology's Biggest Trap

The whole entheta crap is a basic thought stopping mechanism- every cult has some, once a cultie buys into this level of thought -stopping cliches and it's a powerful brainwashing technique once established because it requires less cult intervention and is run by the cultie himself.

It's also another form of black and white thinking- a cognitive distortion used by many cults and very much part of fanatical thinking.

One potential way to counter it is to point out how other cults use similar techniques (with different names)- eg. Thinking bad things about the Moonies is a sin caused by the devil..

With Amway, being a "Dream breaker" means you'll be working for The Man your whole life. Same thing, different labels.

    Amway is a cult.
