I hope the military helps to facilitate his departure in an honorable military fashion. As long as Mubarak leaves soon and stable plan for democracy is in place.

2 Detained Reporters Saw Police’s Methods

In the morning, we could hear the strained voice of a man with a French accent calling out in English: “Where am I? What is happening to me? Answer me. Answer me.”
This prompted us into action — pressing to be released with more urgency, and indeed fear, than before. A plainclothes officer who said his name was Marwan gestured to us. “Come to the door,” he said, “and look out.”
We saw more than 20 people, Westerners and Egyptians, blindfolded and handcuffed. The room had been empty when we arrived the evening before.
“We could be treating you a lot worse,” he said in a flat tone, the facts speaking for themselves. Marwan said Egyptians were being held in the thousands. During the night we heard them being beaten, screaming after every blow.

Life, for millions around the world. Sad that humans are capable of doing this to other humans.
Someone remind me: what century is this?

And for those who pooh-poohed the idea of fundamentalists waiting to fill the political vacuum:
Egypt's Brotherhood to hold talks with government

CAIRO – Egypt's largest opposition group, the Muslim Brotherhood, said it would begin talks Sunday with the government to try and end the country's political crisis.

The announcement by the fundamentalist group came on the 13th day of mass demonstrations calling for the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak, Egypt's authoritarian ruler of nearly 30 years. Mubarak has said he would not run for the presidency again in elections slated for September, but has insisted he will serve out the remaining seven months of his current term to supervise a peaceful transfer of power.
The outlawed Brotherhood said in a statement that its representatives would meet with Vice President Omar Suleiman to press its "legitimate and just demands."

I hope all his assets are seized. Would be hard for all the real estate, but his still has a ton of dough he has no right to in off shore banks. That money would be good to help Egypt's economy.

But according to the UK gov site, there is a pirate "Internet bank" Caledonian Banking Co Ltd/Caledonian Banking Group. (Probably backed with funds from Nigerian widows.)
  35. mojo Member

http://www.caledonian.com/index.php?pageId=75 -- it says it has a banking license but does not say where....most probably out of the caymans which would be a good way to hide money. lots of these offshore insurance companies do the same thing. they have an office in london..doesn't necessarily mean they are authorized to do banking business in the UK...it could be this kind of thing. these offshore banks do all sorts of stuff to give themselves the air of respectability. having offices in recognized banking hubs such as london and new york is fairly standard. getting a banking license in a reputable jurisdiction is not easy and especially not these days.

btw -- the opposition is WARY after talks ----> http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12377179

The Muslim Brotherhood is all chill, like, "yo, check it out, we got /b/lackup!" much like exes and anonymous.

They don't want an ayatollah, they just want to kick your ass off the planet.
